That said, i think you are missing the bigger picture. Market share wars are not not won with high end phones like Innov 8, N96 et al, but with lower to mid spec phones. It's that presence which Nokia is very strong on and which rivals lack. Can you tell me a credible rival to the Nokia 1100?, you will find that not many competitors can come up with something half as good as that.
I have sampled low end phones by Motorola, Samsung and LG, and i must say it was a disapointing experience, the phones are just crap to the point of unusable. Imagine, with the Motorola F3 you almost have to be a rocket scientist to find the call register, with the 1100,it's just 2 clicks away. If there is one thing you can't fault Nokia on, is it's simplicity.

Competition become tougher n tougher..i hope battle between nokia as 1st rank market share with their powerful s60 platform vs samsung as biggest n giants asian vendor with their multiplatform like winmo,android,n s60 too will make good impact for us,we will see better devices than before,but lg,moto,n se can steal the moment if nokia n samsung make mistake

for years nokia had been a major brand company release many variety of phones, but theres still rivals that want to compete with this brand such as sony ericsson and motorola, even thou, nokia's luck never change since people changes styles and tech nowdays, nokia's tech is still the same,making everyone bored and so on, the only way to get out is to change tech, look and style.

Nokia pay licensing fees to symbian and pay the people behind symbian S60 in order for them to integrate symbian s60 to their smarthphones. just like what samsung is doing right now. they have a 50% share on symbian s60 that's why their os is the same as nokia. lolz

Why i compared innov8 with n95? Coz n96 much2 inferior compared with n95 8gb although n96 is flagship,samsung software updater very2 similar with nsu...different step from lg,did u know their S60 mini comunicator KT610 licensed nokia maps n OVI service from nokia..but not all nseries godies like ngage etc of course

Flames, 25 Jan 2009Even if Samsung uses Symbian in future it doesn't neccessar... moreYap,s60 implemented in innov8 much2 dull n seems inferior,but please read the news about 1-2 months ago samsung announced "Samsung s60 mobile innovator" program to gain n offer chance for 3rd party developer to develop samsung s60,start from fp2 based (i8510 n i7110 n a few goodies for last fp 1 based g810),n don't forget that samsung officially launch software updater for their i8510 n next s60 fone,that's gr8 news! While i8510 hardware (ti 2430,twl4030,8mp cam etc) was superior compared to n95 8gb (not n96)..n yeah i ever read news that one of nokia official manager at 5800xm launching in vietnam said that samsung will announced their 1st s60 5th ed touchscreen smartfone at least at Q4 2009 coz samsung also licenseed latest s60 development n at the other side samsung supplies ic memory/flash NAND memory for next nokia nseries

Compare the OS in the Innov 8 and Nokia N96 to see the difference in implementation.

After years enjoy profit,market share domination..now there's the signs that nokia domination will gone (but maybe next 2-3 years)...just wait next symfoundation based devices from nokia or samsung will be the winner,n don't forget..android - winmo 7 based fone from samsung n se,,cell user become smarter to choose what is d best n innovative vendor

O.k People will be slagging Nokia down but they are Still the easiest an Simplest Mobiles to Use thats the reason Nokia will never be beaten in the Mobile Market,But 2009 for the mobile producers will be a tough year for them,people in 2009 will not be spend alot on mobile phones an stick with there older models instead,so the Price of Mobile will have to be reduced to attract buyers so, we will not be seeing to many mobiles released in 2009,unless we see more reliability from mobiles released the sales will drop alot in 2009,Nokia better not make a big mistake getting it mobiles produced in Japan an not Finland ,because with Japan loads of Copies will be released an annoy it customers buying the wrong mobile
