I have never been a big fan of LG, recently i purchased 2 LG phones (Optimus Vu & G2). None of them got firmware update till date. I will trade my G2 with Nokia 1520. My kids are enjoying games on Optimus Vu.

I doubted that tweet, i knew its almost impossible for LG to update so fast lol. Google your favourite nexus OEM is also responsible for our beloved android's shameful fragmentation. Shame on you LG.

This statement doesn't say no update anymore for G2.
In fact LG has already announced International G2 will be having a Kitkat 4.4 update on March,NOT January.
January is the scheduled for KNOCK ON update for L-II SERIES...
simple to understand.

really a nonsense company with nonsense employees. i bought this beast but lack of support may lead me to thik no more LG devices in the future...started regretting. i was a samsung s2 user happily used for 2 yrs and got updated from 2.3 to 4.0 then to 4.1...samsung gave grt support.but the g2 devise is really awsome.love it very much......but lack of software support will lead to customer base drain....

i dont get why all of you are sh!tting your pants over an update. its still a phone that works, make calls, send messages, browse the web and more. if your old LG is not getting an update, chances are that it is out of warranty so if you care enough and are really desperate for the latest software, you can just root.

Why should it?
Its LG... they are now focussing on G-Flex...
G2 is obsolete for them, just like Optimus G & G Pro...
Actually, I hope their smarphone business gets ruined and bankrupt - sooner than later...

LG is indeed the worst for updates, just look at the Optimus 2x, but it got a little better with the 4x. With the G2, they are definitely getting better. KitKat next month? That's great.
With the 2x we had to wait at least a year, then they declared it will not get ICS. Instead, they released the partial source code to developers, which was great.
