Sony Z1 with a 5" screen 144 x 74 [water-resistance]

Samsung S4 5" screen 136.6 x 69.8 [not water-resistance]

That should told you why the Z1 has a bigger physical size than the others with the same display size. But personally, I doesn't like water-resistance phone as I hate having a flap cap on my phone which is annoying to me. I really miss the ZL a lot, hope this is not the ZL successor as ZL is not water-resistance

[deleted post]You have you re-think why the bezels were thick in Sony..they had to do this to put the larger sensor and to make it water resistant..that LG can't do.

If I connect the flash to the car battery, it will most probably fuse the flash because of higher power than required once I turn on the flash whilst the camera on my phone is open. So, I need built in Xenon flash with a massive battery and higher Megapixel count, more than 82 Megapixel in a phone with variable aperture which can be controlled manually.

You're crazy Sony has the best user interface. it's the most minimalistic design and there is almost no bloat it's the closet to vanilla Android there is with a twist. Let me guess you like Samsung's bloat-ware software?

LG provide a small phone with BIG screen and BIG Battery capacity. LONG LASTING BATTERY LIFE.

                        which Sony can't do.

AnonD-225446, 18 Jan 2014I can't understand the thin bezel backlash either. What is... more"progress" "futuristic", i don't see thin bezels as progress or futuristic, when a phone is hard to use or even keep in the hand then thin bezels is just a form over function, remember, people hands did not change in size.

By the way, in the name of "progress" we have worst environment disasters, yet people celebrate and even worship so called "progress", they hate someone reminding them of that, or the craze of modern gadgets, but what's the point, many people will keep changing their phones every year or even every 6 months, some of them even mocks other with 1 year old phones ... such "progress".

AnonD-81610, 18 Jan 2014Because it takes up precious space on 5.5-6" phablets.... moreNo it doesn't. My Xperia Z Ultra goes in my pockets fine, and in the pockets of every single person I've ever showed it to who asked to try it. Size of bezels means absolutely dick in terms of pocketability. Your pocket is bigger than you think it is, or else you need to quit wearing skinny jeans (or start carrying a purse). You have to go all the way up to 7 inches for them to start mattering.

AnonD-206412, 18 Jan 2014The thing on bottom and up arent they bezels too? You need a place for the (2) camera sensors, you can not put the main camera under the screen, because of it's size,
front camera can't be there too :)
Antennas, microphones, sensors and receivers need front row too.
If you only will have a bezel on the upper side it wont look good and unbalanced.

What is wrong with beautiful, thin bezels? This is progress. Do you like big bezels? Thin bezels means more screen for less pocket space. Thin bezels looks nice and futuristic. What is the problem here? Why can't we enjoy our thin bezels without one guy popping up in every article whining about how the bezels we have are good enough. The Model T was good enough. The original iPhone was good enough too. Let's just stop trying to fix things that aren't broken, right?

I reckon Sony needs to do a complete overhaul of their UI. It's one of the worst that Android has to offer (in my opinion). Also, since they have onscreen keys, why do they have to have the top and bottom bit of the bezel so thick as if it has to accommodate for something? Obviously the parts need to fit inside the device but it surely should be able to be fixed.

But too thin bezels might set off an unintended interaction.
