Sony Xperia Z1S comes with bootloader unlocking disabled

Unlike the international model, the Z1S for T-Mobile will not let you officially unlock the bootloader.

    they madea zl for the z, this must be the Z1L
    it's running on msm8974AB variant of snapdragon 800, which should be the same specs with xperia z1, just more compact body, cheaper price and not waterproof.

          For you guys, yes this is a big deal! But, then again most of regular smartphone won't care. Does the majority of cellphone users actually understand or know what bootloader is and do?

              thats nice of t mob,another reason i'm realy glad i live in the eu and not the us.
              looks like it will remain illegal in the us to unlock even an imported device and looking at some of the stupid ideas floating around,just owning an old unused unlocked phone will get you at least a years jail time !!!

Even the Xperia P had a set of models whi... moreI should clarify that there were also a fair amount of Xperia Ps that were granted unlock permission via Sony. You just have to hope - should you get a Z1S - that you get one that's unlockable.

                    This is not news. Even the Xperia P had a set of models which weren't allowed a bootloader unlock.

                        good job t mobile. good job. people were just rooting and unlocking Paid feature like internet sharing which is imo stealing.
