Okay folks!.. uh.. don't be so tough on this one. obviously, it is a low end android, so dont assune that it will be fighting against other upper tier phones.
We still don't know what it is like without google support on an android and based on what nokia had shown with its experimentation with alot of OSes that they have handled. they are known to be a master of hardware optimization.

If this android phone was able to do the impossible. I will buy the idea that nokia can beat google with its own android.

Dual core and 512MB RAM is definitely NOT good for android. It will be laggy as hell after only a short amount of time depending on it's UI and bloatware

Anonym, 31 Jan 2014You are right, it's only in your mind. There is nothing th... moreS40 cannot compete with android if you are in for a smatphone. but it is defenitely much better than android if you use the phone only for basic tasks.even nokia S40 based phones from 5 or 6 years ago easily beats your android phone in terms of standby time.it is more reliable.

There is nothing that would make a dirt-cheap Android any less reliable than the obsolete S40 (both in hardware and software).

Keep in mind something that the Chinese Huawei already figured out with their Y300, as hardware evolves you start reaching a point where computing power becomes cheap and readily accessible even at entry level.

                    Translation:
We've reached a point in hardware evolution where the new low-end (and dirt cheap) SoCs are already good enough to power a decent smartphone (one that is similar to a mid-ranger from a year or two ago).

If they kill off S40, that would be.. massive.
In my mind, a massive mistake.

A low-end Android device won't be anywhere near as reliable as an S40 device.

Maybe getting rid of S40 would just be about cutting development costs, I don't know.
