This is business not a charity. Nokia could've sued Samsung as well since Samsung are using a lot of their patents but they did not because Samsung actually made an effort to negotiate and license them. HTC did not hence this litigation.

For Nokia to maintain their inovation they have to maintain profit stability where they can sustain funds on their patents. but now they are getting bankrupt!! and need help from Microsoft? pathetic.

That must be where it started. I feel sorry for the Germans though, HTC is a great brand and I love my HTC ONE.

GENIUS come up with an MARKETABLE idea, how is he rewarded? By filing a patent gets the right to be the sole supplier or license provider.
Some fly by night can't then sake make money (COPY)it without paying a license fee
That is how you reward the patent holder or there would be NO innovation as....
Why put the effort into anything if some walk by day is just going to steal it
