TRK, 03 Feb 2014Nokia quality+ Android.... seems cool, doesn't it?! Yes it does. But, Android + 512MB Ram + 4 GB internal storage sure doesn't seem cool.

Oh great, now I can have Nokia Maps and Bing on droid phone, lol :D
Perhaps this will be the only Android phone with Bing pre-installed, ha! talking about special edition :)

I hope it comes with MS Office too.. *finger crossed*

If it comes with Nokia maps with offline GPS then I will buy it for sure... Really missing Nokia's offline navigation in my Android. Google's Navigation voice too is very confusing & fast, 90% of the time I don't understand. Nokia's voice guidance is simple & awesome.

AnonD-125478, 03 Feb 2014its Nokia without any google services, bro... but i dont k... moreThe GPU takes RAM. Video-Camera buffers also take RAM.
By taking RAM I really mean block it and subtract it out of the system RAM.

                Consider this (just examples):
                - Device has a total of 512MB RAM
                - GPU takes 128MB
                - Video-Camera takes 28MB

The end result is that your system (Android) will report that your device only has 356MB of RAM installed (this despite actually having a total of 512MB).

I'm not talking of *FREE* memory, I am talking about memory that is never available to be used by Android in the first place (only the usable memory gets reported)!

but i dont know if 512mb RAM, but in the device only shows 445mb, so where the rest of it going?? for system??

and it just my opinion, we can try when this device available around the globe, as i knew that Nokia with Symbian was so great in less resources (N8 and 808PV)

AnonD-195263, 03 Feb 2014N9 already ported android. Soo your statement is wrong.N9 never had any official flavor of Android, only a version which didn't even fully support the device -- let alone allow to properly taste Android on a Nokia phone.

AnonD-125478, 03 Feb 2014i believe it could more than 300mb free of RAM with some sy... moreI *HIGHLY* doubt that.
The 512MB of RAM aren't exclusive as "system RAM", you also have (at the very best) to subtract the shared memory for the GPU (that is counting you don't get any more surprises with board reserved memory, such as for the video-camera buffer for instance).

I give you as reference my 2011 Xperia, which also has 512MB of RAM. With the latest CM11 by LegacyXperia (Android 4.4.2) it has 356MB of usable RAM -- not 512MB.
Other phones with 512MB don't fare much better. For instance the Huawei Y300 also has the usable RAM below 400MB.

As such, having 300MB of free memory is plain and simply unrealistic for this device.

tomakali, 03 Feb 2014Microsoft asked Samsung to dual-boot android with windows p... moreDude, I thought it would be the other way around. Till last year, we did not have an optimized Android version running on low end devices, which compromised the user experience in terms of lag. That was the sole reason for Lumia 520 success (the only saving grace for WP lineup).

With kitkat now available, there would be new low end android devices which provide smooth experience on budget. Microsoft has to quickly find a way to add more apps in their appstore to rival android, else WP (which is reasonably sucessful in entry level only anyway) would be extinct by end of 2014 against low end android devices with kitkat.

i surely hope the phone experience would be at least similar to the one on WP8 (smooth with no apparent lag).

Is MicroNokia really hopes it will be able to fool ex-Nokia customers, by pushing Windows-lookalike Android with underpowered characteristics?
                                      LOL
Every mid range android phone is better than top MicroNokia phone, do mid range MicroNokia Android phone will be worse than cheap Alcatel.
