duh...As compared to?? Samsung can use plastic. It's easier to manipulate, faster to produce, more cost effect, and generally holds up stronger. No dings and dents, no shatters, less signal interference, does not heat up as fast or retain as much heat, is more flexible, and so forht.
As well as the Sd Slots and removable battery. Now they are even coming out with new looks and ideas for it since so many fanboys wanna cry about what they think looks nice.
They even have removable back on their water proof plastic device. And when they did have aluminum or aluminum backed devices there was still removable back and battery.

The Faux Leather back of my Note 3 is awesome. It is really grippy, doesn't scuff and mark, feels like leather and looks great.
