CJS, 21 Feb 2014So flash a custom ROM!!! 4.4 ROMs are already available and... moreI would agree but with the advent of Knox on later phones you can no longer go back to a valid warraty status once Knox is tripped. Even just rooting the phone blows your warranty permanently and don't forget Samsung give 2 year warranties. So for older devices this will become more of a problem as time goes on.
I currently own a Note 3 but with the advent of Knox it may well be my last Samusng phone. Knox is software that I did not ask for, do not want, that I cannot get rid of, that prevents me doing things that as the owner of my phone I want to do but cannot without potentially voiding my warranty. This is the definiton of Malware and I don't by phones that ome infested with Malware that cannot be removed.

This bothers me!! We want to update our devices to the new Android 4.4.2 , I have htc one x+ and Samsung Galaxy S3 .

How is it possible that a two year ago android flagship, considered the best phone of the world, doesn't get the KitKat 4.4.2 update? Specially wheb far less powerfull phones will get it (Grand, S4 mini, etc)???
We should send to Samsung lots of emails saying how mad and sad we are. Maybe they turn the idea around...

First they skip 4.2, then we go thru hell with 4.3 and now they leave us without 4.4. For me this is total disrespect for all S3 owners. Out of all Galaxy models, S3 is still most used one. I am not a cry baby but i think that S3 has skyrocketed samsung and earned them a lot of money. The 4.4 update is the least they can do to give back to the S3 owners.

Chill out men. Even if it doesn't get 4.4, its still ok, you got 4.3.They are about to announce a flagship 2 generations after the S3, so that might be the reason.
And yea, better think of getting a new phone already.

This is not any official list, the official list already mentioned SIII (a link having a printout with official samsung seal was already posted in gsmarena itself). Moreover, the note2 binary is almost identical to the SIII one, leaving the S-Pen novelties aside, so, it has been a trend in samsung to release the SIII update followed by additions made for those in note2, which is also included in the list.

I think the data which gsmarena got is incorrect. How can a low end Samsung Grand can get 4.4 update leaving Samsung Galaxy S3 out. Doesnt Make sense !!

deaaaf, 21 Feb 2014i will pardon ur ignorance, ever heard of Xperia SP, Moto G?The S3 has a far better Camera than those two, more internal mem, larger display and if you throw in the Galaxy S3 LTE, it has 2GB RAM. O H YES, another flaw in this list, the S3 LTE has 2GB RAM and is not there, a CLEAR indication that this list isn't finished and is riddled with mistakes.
People must calm down, you all know the Galaxy S3 WILL get KitKat, if I'm not mistaken Samsung themselves confirmed that a month or two ago, use some logic and quit panicking!

There has not even been an official statement stating that S3 won't get the update, and the list includes the Grand1 not Grand2 these are major indicators that whoever wrote it may have made some mistakes, yet here the lot of you are losing your minds already instead of using some dam logic.
