Google says Project Ara is designed for 6 billion people but there's no hint of a phone announcement yet.

I think PhoneBlok (The Concept), Motorola (The Hardware & Kickstarter) and Google are actually working together to make this Idea come true.

GSMarena poster didn't mention that, I thought Google stole PhoneBlok idea too, but more needs to put up so people don't assume Google's a bully.

Read somewhere else Motorola is helping PhoneBlok...Google must be taking care of the software (So it might have Android or Bada)

PS. some are this are thoughts don't take it as facts. I hope they come out with a Keyboard Slider.

I've had this idea before a long time ago. More precisely in 2006 when what I really wanted was to put a kind of PC in your pocket. And that could change their parts when needed, like a PC that u can change the memory, motherboard, processor, video card and so on. leaving only the housing and screen and nothing else! Since then, I've never seen anything like what I imagined or wanted! And the operating system would be to our liking, or if I wanted was just to install Windows Phone, Android was only if you wanted to install, and if I wanted to install Ubuntu and was just ready.

Swear I could do with this type of phone:

Quad Core 1.6Ghz Processor and a dope GPU
                                    1080p Display
                                    LTE
                                    3 500Mah battery
                                    13MP Camera (back) + 5MP (Front)

                                    This would make me drool....

What I want in a phone is:
                                        - 4-4.3" 720p HD screen
                                        - 1-1.2GHz dual-core CPU + nice GPU
                                        - 2 GB RAM
                                        - 8MP camera + 1080p video rec
                                        - TV-out
                                        - NFC
                                        - NO LTE!
                                        - Nice big battery!

I don't think there is such a phone that would hit these exact specifications, but with a modular design I think that could be achieved.
Yes, the phone probably won't be a looker and will cost more, but on the long run if you replace 1 thing every 1 year you could really save some cash.

The closest to this gets Xperia SP or even Moto G (low cost phones), but Xperia Z1 compact is better, but it's in the flagship price range. :(
