Aren't you too "optimistic"?! Why so much negativity? I think it's a wonderful project that will benefit tens if no hundreds of millions of people. Good luck Google and all the partners on this project!

This is a stupid concept. Modular construction will make phones more expensive. After a year you must to change all modules of your phone to be up to date. Do you really believe that modules from one manufacturer will be compatible with these from an other one? I do not. This is fundamental for modular concept.

modular shouldnt be too modular. as some chip manufacturers design their modules to have multiple embedded parts. at least have these components:
frame base
standard screens (3 to 4 sizes)
touch screen (separate module)
motherboard (which has all the specs)slot type
ram slot type
battery
camera shouldn't be a slide outside the panel, but a clip on at the back of the screen.
that's what i think

What about MODULAR MOBILE OS? I wish we could choose between WP, Firefox, Android or iOS? Or parts we like from each OS put together in one OS.

It all sounds good untill google decides to choke the freedom of it somehow the way it strategically made the "open source" nature of android a complete joke. Way to go google, gain the support of company so that you can later force them into the OHA and subjugate them. I mean its all business to you, right?

I wonder if we could upgrade the ram, storage, cpu and gpu with these devices.
