CeLL, 17 Feb 2009Nokia has the most complex menu ;) all SE fans...are a litl... more8800...yeah, you mentioned class but clearly you dont know how to compute very well...you pay for almost 1000 dollars and you only get basic features in exchange for carbon fiber and steel.thats not something that would really be worth it..not to mention, no WiFi and no 5mp camera...

irondread, 18 Feb 2009ugly?? this is by far the best phone design(next to n97) i ... moreDon't worry, the almighty brand is focusing so much on packing every tech available into its latest top-of-the-line phones that minor (quality) details are being ignored.

The 5800's being sold in my city suffer serious problems with the earpiece, as the volume is very unstable (sometimes goes up, sometimes goes down).

Seems like the "phones" from the almighty brand can do everything else (multimedia, games, etc...) EXCEPT basic phone functions...

[deleted post]That depends on which market segment you're looking at...

For "business" users, due to company's budget cut, or perhaps even out of the job, may really be concern how much $ they spend on buying hi-tech phones.

Though ever thought about which market segment dominates the hi-tech phone market? Those between 30~50? Doubt so! Most hi-tech phones are so to "teens", if not those in their 20's.

These people care little less if their parents are going to loose their jobs, or if the company their parents work for cut the budget any further. These "kids" would do anything (eating more instant noodle/not eat at all/part time job....and hopefully not anything bad) to get the $, if they can't get it from their parents directly, to get these hi-tech devices.

That's why sales of HTC (and other touchscreen devices) have been booming in the past few years, and the trend doesn't seem to stop anytime soon.

ugly?? this is by far the best phone design(next to n97) i have ever seen that nokia came up with.the good thing about nokia is its user friendly design. now, no one can compete with that.i just hope its not as bulky as the n96. and i also hope this will not be just like the n73(used to have "all-in-one" feature but suddenly will have a memory problem).

Leo, 17 Feb 2009Nokia people are so dumb that on the day of the N86 8MP off... moreThat's bcoz the almighty brand loves to release similar (design) phones within months, if not weeks, to the point even its own staff can no longer keep track all of them?

Especially the 1xxx and 2xxx series, what's so "new" about the new models that the target customers really care about? Most of them buy a phone simply for dial/receive calls only. Just pack the basic functions there and forget about the so called "smart" (S40?) O/S...these people simply would NOT install any software on these phones...

Hence for the low end users, it doesn't really matter if the model is new or 2 years old, as long as the phone can perform what a phone should be, these customers should be happy.

However, the almighty brand thinks the other way....keep pumping out so called "new" models every month (if not week!), printing new manuals, using new packaging materials, etc...(while the stuff for "old" models become obsolete and go to landfills)

Maybe the almighty brand really cares about keeping the workers happy, instead of the environment.

Why cant some of their... moreAnd I remember how the almighty brand "tried" to copy the slim flip phone design....and the sales suffered due to silly design (a big hole at the hinge), can't fully opened with the headphone plugged in, and of course, poor quality with paint keeps coming off...

Designers at the almighty brand are really...

And it will take YEARS for the almighty brand to simply catchup with standardizing the charger port? What an innovative company with LEADERSHIP in the market!

As a nokia fan, I'm sure I'm not the only one, to say - WTF?!!!

This should have been the n85 - what a joke, no xenon and 8gb is standard - we should be looking toward 32gb. Nokia is really lagging behind.

I won't be upgrading to a Nokia anytime soon.

I can only hope they sort out their act and have a surprise on the way, but I highly doubt it.
