17 Feb, 2009
As you probably already know, Nokia N86 leaked yesterday, but today it makes the news all official. Named Nokia N86 8MP, it's got the first 28mm wide angle lens on a mobile phone. There's also a kickstand...

Note to the site admin. The title is wrong I suppose:

    it says:
    Nokia unveils N86 8MB.....

shouldn't it be 8MP as in Megapixel

    Just lending a helping hand

    All the best

Bronco, 17 Feb 2009Just as Nokia roll out their 8 Megapixel contender, they're... moreBronco, you obviously know very little about digital cameras.
The more megapixels you have after a certain point the worse the image quality. THis is because the sensors are so small and adding extra megapixels only creates noise. Better lenses = Better Pictures.

If you want a good camera get acamera not a phone.

Plus the SE Idou will retail at TWICE THE PRICE... not really comparing apples with apples.

          Damnit!

And here I was going to say that SHARP was the first 28mm 8MPx mobile with the 930SH/SH1810C.

          But it's 29mm...

          Ok, Nokia - you win.

Just as Nokia roll out their 8 Megapixel contender, they're beaten once again. This time, by Sony Ericsson, with their 12.2 Megapixel beast, the Idou.

Shame Nokia, you used to be the best brand out there. =S

I think the leaked roadmap before is a total bogus. It says there that corolla runs on s60 v9.5 and will not have the touchscreen? How is it possible? Most of the devices released using the s60v9.5 has touchscreen.
Although i know that this one is not corolla.
              I quite find it unreliable.

                you guys are kidding yourselves.

This is not a top of the line phone. Its an upgrade on the N85 so dont expect it to have a 3.5" touch screen, xenon etc etc etc.

Reviews on the N85 were great except for build quality and the keypad. This looks like it has fixed those plus has a few nice extras.

Bit of a strange colour though..... i guess nokia will release a few.

PS if it had xenon it would be 4mm thicker and you goys would be whining about it being a brick. Get a life!!

So here we are! Nokia has responded to the challenge of SE, Samsung and LG. And we must conclude that Nokia`s response is PATHETIC!

When all the major manufacturers are bringing out beautiful touch screen high-end phones, Nokia is introducing the same 2 year old design in the well known low quality plastic build. Looks like Nokia is really loosing the race. They were so relaxed with their market share that they forget to invest in innovation and improvement.
This will cause Nokia its first place in mobile manufacturing. Today even loyal fans are considering abandoning their favorite brand and moving to new and exciting adventures with Samsung and SE.

Looks like what everybody is seeing its really true – Nokia is going down!

GSMArena must be looking at sharp phones in japan, for their information the first phone to sport 28mm wide angle lens was the Sharp SH-01. also it incorporates CCD sensor ;)
