Oth... morenah..win-win situation will never exist...it may only sound like that but in the end,the other gets more than the other.life was never fair..in this case...who wins in the mobile phone world?? its still very debatable....but their will always be a loser and a winner...

k, 18 Feb 2009It is just an n85 rehash - there are loads of solid, reliab... morehaving xenon on camer phones ages ago?? that would have been a disaster...their was not enough study that can support or back-up that concept(putting xenon on a cameraphone). that is why only a few camera phone have xenon on it even today.because they figured that their are more things that they should put on a phone instead wasting time over a xenon flash.their will always be a feature that will be sacrificed in exchange for something.it depends on what category or area the company(nokia in this matter) wants to target..ever wonder why nokia have Eseries and Nseries or SE's walkman and K,T,C,etc...they exist because they cater different consumer interest.and not only that, they cant merge everything in to one...it is not just possible. especially since technology continuesly evolve. just try to conceptualize a phone that has it all...most probably the "UGLIEST" phone in the world..imagine a 13.1mp DSLR camera on a touchscreen with a 100GB PDA phone.its not just possible...one good example was the n73..try to check that out to know what happend.

It is just an n85 rehash - there are loads of solid, reliable nokia models.
It’s not just about pushing the specs - having an n82 successor and xenon flash is not a big ask. We should have seen this ages ago.
It is disappointing because we know Nokia can make amazing phones and they are resting on their laurels. Fans are usually harsh on companies (like Nintendo) because they don’t meet the high standards they themselves set.
Like Wesker from Resident Evil 5 says - Poor performance indeed!

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2009don't think that symbian s60 evolve itself if is not NOK... moreI think enough credit has been given to Nokia for that. Otherwise other companies would not be selling their shares back to Nokia. Nokia spent millions each year for symbian development. On the other hand they were not making much from selling license to other brands. It's a win-win situation for ALL now.

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2009So can u elaborate what are the exact "updates" being so im... moreits simple economics my friend..nokia did not go out the market to just please customers, and before i go to that issue, nokia is not competing in the market putting the consumers in mind first.of course their main priority is profit..this is why they have "updates" on their phone line.to make people think that they are getting the right bargain. they have to keep on making people think that they "modify" their units to keep people on track on the latest trend.
and about the plastic issue, as much as i would like to argue with you, yep, i hate plastic as it messes with the paint. but let us not forget the problem with steel..it is just one step closer to over heat.(this is actually an issue on the e71) of course i am not saying that mobile phone made from steel is harmful but it may shorten the battery life or the phones lifespan as well. and lets face it, Nokia wants to increase profit and cut down expenses. if we are going to talk about features, Nokia have so many things to boast..thats just it.no matter how people label nokia as a lame piece of $h*t, the fact still remains that nokia is fully loaded.
and let us always remind our selves that their is no such thing as perfect.i dont think that any phone company would dare to risk millions on making "the pefect phone" since their is no way that could ever happen.the omnia is a perfect example of an attmept to be the best PDA phone as it is armed with a "powerful" 5mp camera.turns out that the 5mp of omnia can be placed on the same level of their U900's 5mp. and to be honest, i think U900 have a better 5mp.

The best part is that soon symbian will be free to use. That will be the END of Nokia dependence. Even now as we speak we see Samsung coming up with better UI in Omnia HD. They will make it even better once its open source.

it is very unfortunate that many rate fones according to megapixels.anything above 6 or 7 in general is same.manufacturers should concentrate on better optics, not MPX's
for the n86,it is dissapointing that it still runs an older version of symbian despite being a 2K9 model.everything else is just awesome.
