" - If you are going to get a Galaxy Y every month, then you are correct. =D

Going on locked-sim contract is usually a bargain and makes it affordable for most people NOT only for iphones but for most flagship smartphones.

Its 466 Euro here in the Philippines, so I guess slashing off another 20 Euros may not be a bargain but many here that don't want to throw away cash for a 5s would definitely consider this phone.

An 8gb phone can only be practically in the long-term if you use/have cloud access, and people with unlimited 24/7 internet access don't usually need to go for budget models. So who is this phone for?

AnonD-150512, 17 Mar 2014Just thinking outloud here. Why going through extra trouble... moreBecause that would look bad.
Apple sells an image of prosperity and that drives up demand. No matter how negative people are towards them they are successful at marketing the apple brand. The logical thing to do is to discount product that is not selling well - we see it in clothing - but that is not the apple model.

If it is true Apple is sitting on millions of unsold iPhones they will just scale back the production of them to a point where they get rid of excess inventory and then reassess the phone at the end of 2014.

Once in an interview. Jobs said that he never cared about the money .. he always cared to build something that can change the world.. I don't think that this was his motto.. he forgot that majority of the population on this planet is not as rich as he expected. Not everbody can (Most of them) afford an iPhone.. then how could he changed the world.. !!

Apple products are never cheaper.. whatever they may say.. a Cheaper 5C will cost a $50-$100 lesser than 16gb model.. thats all..!!

They might have a relatively cheap lay down for the phone but the contract costs are higher for the phone comparably and as such you end up paying allot for the phone. I.E. (random figures here), 40pcm for an iphone for 24 months or 30 for a better spec free droid over 24 months with the same contact (minutes, text, data).

I may consider if it is selling as cheap as Nokia 5xx / 6xx series. But I highly doubt it will be so.
