I don't see anything special with recent HTC phone.
I believe it's only publicity stunt.

I hate the move to onscreen buttons and the ridiculous bezel at the bottom, so I won't be purchasing the 2014 iteration. My 2013 HTC one still serves me well anyway and will continue to (hopefully)for another 3 years or until HTC removes that bezel.

Today a friend of mine said he was sick of the iPhone(he has a 5) and wanted a samsung. I told him Sony or HTC have better options than S5, but he wasn't convinced. Just as Apple's power is on a decline now, so will Samsung's in the following years. It's time for Sony, HTC and maybe LG too if they sort out a few things to rise.
