Ok, I suppose its appropriate to mention this again. On upgrading Windows Mobile.
1) Based on leaked / provided information, processor wise, WM6.6 should work with anything that runs 6.1 smoothly.
2) Unfortunately, the info does indicate only models with the designated RAM size can run 6.5.
3) Microsoft does not update phones. Manufacturers do.
4) If you're using HTC, they tend to be quick releasing new ROMs.
5) If your model is not listed, check the major WM modding communities for custom ROMs.
6) Microsoft's statement on "only in new phones" is not true. Any new phone (assuming having the specs required) will definitely get a WM6.5 update. HTC will be pissed if its HTC Touch HD doesn't get one. SE will be pissed in the X1 doesn't get one. Etc.

Unless the company that provided your phone plans on coming out with an update for you to WinMo 6.5/7, the only way to get it is to hope someone out there is smart enough (and this is usually the case) to rip it off another device and cook a ROM for your device that you can use to update it.

So far, WinMo 6.5 is exclusive to only latest phones. Even some of the latest phones shipping with WinMo 6.1 will not be able to upgrade to 6.5. As a matter of fact, WinMo 6.5 even needs a hardware "windows" key on your mobile. However, things might change in 6-8 months, so far there is absolutely no hope for 6.1 to 6.5 upgrade.

Apple makes the best that can be technologically achieved and with all rights protects it as well. I will rather pay a little and use a perfect Mac than download a free copy of Windows full of bugs and viruses.
You know, if you go with the masses you will be like the masses. Why do you think that 96% of the money in the world is owned buy 2% of population?!
Going with the masses is always the safe option but not the prosperous option.

A botnet of mobile devices would be handy to some.

i bet everyone who is saying winmo cannot be upraded to newer version fells pretty silly right now :) i mean really, do you even think before you speak(type)?
regarding apple OS? com'on, its a software for a very few minority, most of the people in the planet use Windows, apple users would really struggle with compatibility issues with other users. Their monopoly stand is like an iron wall that apple made to isolate themeselves to the rest of the world.

My HTC BlueAngel come with WM2003SE, and now it is running with WM 6.1.
It is possible to change, but only for the ones who know how.

I actually like apple but that are saying things they do not create them .For example they did not create icons in OS, It was created in Xrocs Labs. Look to their advertisements also, attacking Microsoft name is the main goal. One of the silly Adds is Mac OS X is virus free. Windows is sharing 90% of OS industry, so most of hackers will create the viruses, worms for windows because most of people using it. One last thing Apple will never dominate their OS as long as they sell it with their hardware. By the way ask you friend if she can anything else than Multimedia processing (photoshop , video…..) better than windows . Example (Office is more productive tool than any fancy software in MAC (iwork).

Actually, you wrong, you can update your Windows to new version, it is not legal and most of the times the best choice for your device, but anyway it is possible and depends on your exact device!

Than I got an iPhone and I was and still am AMAZED how well everything works! And with the endless flow of great applications for it I can say that WinMo is doomed if they don’t do some radical changes and fast!
The point is this: WinMo is made for masses for profit. In the same time Apple makes products also for profit, BUT not just for profit. When they release something, you can be sure that that is top of its range, flawlessly working made by real enthusiast who believes that they will develop the best of the best! That is a huge difference! Look at the PC`s for example. Everybody can buy PC for much less money than an iMac, but the iMac is far more superior than any other Windows PC. I have a friend who is a biology researcher. She does not give a sh**t about brands, but she insists that she can only work on iMac`s! She buys a Macbook Pro, turns it on and NEVER EVER turns it off until 3-4 years pass and she gets a newer one. And her Macbook is NEVER hot! Never! Fast, reliable just as it meant to be! Window is like you make a DIY job. It is rubber and tape, nothing more.
iPhone rules because OSX rules!

It's called Photokeys, Photoshop remote.
