Eat 3gb, 28 Mar 2014if you want better camera buy yourself a Hoble Telescope. 4... moreSpec wise the S5 is only higher clocked and CPU clock always goes down under heavy use, the GPU in some devices remains (such as sony xperia Z series) at it's highest clock speed without any caps.

So spec wise the Z2 beats the S5 by far. Not only because of the extra RAM, but also under normal use the higher clocked S5 will consume more power from it's smaller battery.

I don't mind what HTC is trying to do with their camera, but they are over doing it. They could have it be 8MP. MANY likes to crop and move in closer on their pictures. There's not a lot of room for that with only 4MP. And despite their efforts to make it better than others in low light, I'm struggling to the se the benefit.

        MSM8974AC have 2gb ram. with EMMC 5.0 (a 1Q 2014 chip)

Speculation. Either way Z2 is using the older one. Either way, still same thing. 3GB means 3GB, 2GB means 2GB. No way a specified chip can have more RAM unless a different chipset.

Peter peter peter, get rid of rubbish gimmicks like ultra pixels and go back to proper can technology, and then realise that you are not Apple and thus drop the prices of these flagships, if you made it a loss leader the market share would jump to the levels you want, but what is not important is customers v share holders who are not using your products.

AnonD-170083, 28 Mar 2014htc sucks i have a s4 from my s4 am going to get a xperia z... moreITs not just the camera. There is a reason HTC One won all sorts of awards for 2013 despite the 4 MP camera. Low resolution allows for instant operation. In a mobile speed of taking a pic is very important. Also Ultrapixel means that you get a usable picture every time without having to play with modes and settings. Plus, things other than camera, such as looks, software and other features make a phone great, not the camera alone. Plus, Xperia Z1 and Z2's 20 MP camera is not regarded as a top quality camera, resolution alone does not mean quality.

well Samsung doesn't deserve a 10% share of market.. hopefully HTC and Sony starts gaining a lot of market share.. it would be great if both of these companies hold 25-30% share each in the coming years!!

I wish may your dreams come true. I'm really impress about your new phone and I look forward to purchase it as soon as it available.

One thing I'm quite sure this year. That is, Samsung's emperor is gradually breaking down now. If you try hard one day you might be the king of the market.

I like a company like HTC can survive. More players more competition. However, M8 really disappointed me for the two things.

                        1. 4MP camera. M8 could just upgrade its M7 camera to 8MP with OIS. What the hell is this 4MP dual cameras without OIS ? Why did HTC make things complicated without fixing the key issue.

                        2. The soft keys on M7 were on the HTC logo bar. M8 uses another bar for soft keys. What is this HTC logo bar for, which takes so much space. M8 actually has less space to display content than M7 because the space is taken by soft keys.

with m8 htc removed the only thing that i liked about the camera on the m7 that is ois.probably that came at the expense of second rear cam which i don't think is a gud choice. there are phones already available in the market that can do selective refocus n background defocus with a single rear camera( lumias,Xperia z1s) as efficiently as the m8.
i agree with one of the users here that 8-10 % of flagship market is possible for htc but not that % of entire phone market.

Look at all flagship android this year. All are snap 801. So wheres the selection choice? HTC / Sony or Samsung or LG.. no point all same in the end.

Looking at antutu means nothing neither, as the chipset is the same, no matter how fast you go.. its just the software.. just install custom rom and you get ur score.

Thats why every android company compare other things.. like waterproof / camera / fingerprint / design .. all these are kinda meaningless agreed, but thats the most they can do.

Its the same old thing you found in PC market. acer/asus/sony/lenovo etc.etc... The guts are the same intel/amd.

People complain only 2GB in 801.. but THATS is soldered on the chip .. they cannot add more.

Buy the phone based on camera/design/battery endurance. Don bother cores/ram .. they are all the same.

I think it’s possible. All manufacturers need to tweak products or think outside the square and in this case just chip, chip, and one step at a time. Over all I think you are doing a good job. By all means listen to constructive critique, bypass negative tear me downs and stay focused. I look forward to seeing continued development and deployment with added marketing. I’d be interested to see a high end mini. All the best, Anthony Bodcare.com
