That's amazing. Samsung must be tearing their customers a new butt with what they are charging for their standard 1080p screen.. It's not just apple being expensive anymore. And. Samsung don't give that amazing refund or exchange warranty.

Clinton, 11 Apr 2014You won't notice the difference in real life usage. Am sure... moreExactly, people are so concerned about the SoC used when they should be worried about the choice of going for needless QHD screens.

You can get better photo quality... moreZ2 rated the best camera in a phone, even besting the 808 preview, more mp doesn't always mean better but doesn't hurt either. Z2 the winner this year with the most features. Noise canceling definitely huge as you don't have to wear the hardware and battery, hoping it compares to the Bose quietcomfort 20!

Dynamac, 11 Apr 2014The megapixel war is over. You can get better photo quality... moreThat's still 13MP while HTC rubbish has 4MP, no way you try to excuse them their camera is still horrendously rubbish. If it was 8MPix UP it would have been genuine progress. But HTC is more interested in selling crap and pulling fast ones on the zealots.

A 13MP sensor done is more than enough, but if you have clever oversampling tech like Nokia has then a large high MPix sensor makes a lot of sense. Only HTC will whine about MPix wars because they don't have something of their own to join the oversampling area.

It's just marketing 101, spread FUD about higher MPix because they don't have what it takes.

A lot of misplaced focus in here about what will cause it to fail.

The SoC is not the one that will lead to a fail. It's the pointless QHD screen that will be a battery muncher even with GRAM.

You can use iPhone 5S as an example, as their 8mp cameras were very good for 8mp

If Model No.is "M8974-AA" Its surely Snapdragon-S800 found in Note3/G2. Snapdragon 805 Model No. is "APQ8084". Either this news is invalid or G3 wants to be big flop. They want to try the fate of 2K (QHD) in markets. Then they'll fix it in G4. Guy's just go with Z2, If u want to buy something worth in the year 2014. Why wanna go with 2013 processor. Just for display you'll pay 15K extra ? G2's price in market is 27K. This G3 will cost you around 40K at minimum. LG wants to use their "S800" stock they purchased for G2.

The way things are right now a mobile with QHD would actually make me not wanting it. FullHD is better for longer battery and faster performance.
Even apps will take a while until they are QHD ready. ( ofcourse they will auto upscale from 720p setting as 4x720p = QHD) but that doesn't make it better.
Sony and Samsung made the right choice staying with 1080 for now and impruving colours, brightness, contrast and sunlight legibility for Z2/S5 over Z1/S4.
Also the difference in sharpness is so small I don't know if it will ever be worth it in a screen smaller than 6''.
I would love a 8-9'' e-reader thought with a mate QHD or even UHD display. But that is completly another story.

The megapixel war is over. You can get better photo quality and low light performance from 13mp compared to 20mp. More pixels is actually a bad thing for such a small sensor. That's why HTC went away from that and why the new Sony a7s full frame DSLR takes amazing photos for 12pm.
