glxy, 22 Apr 2014Anyone actually surprised at this news?!! All of Nokia mana... moreOEMs were going with Android because Android is cheap and allows OEMs to put crap on the OS. It was the only OS to compete with iOS. iphones were exclusive to AT&T while Android was on all the US carriers. Those things help the adoption of Android. Windows Phone is now free to OEMs, you will see more phones for WP8 coming out.

Anyone actually surprised at this news?!! All of Nokia management actions since Elop's time pointed at this. Imagine, dropping Symbian which everyone understood to be the Nokia look/feel they fell in love with - instead of improving and updating it. Refusing to join the Android bandwagon while all other competitors have been reaping $$$ from it (those who have multiple platforms can attest that Android is the only platform bringing in the money). Android + familiar Nokia launcher + Nokia hardware would have killed everyone. Then despite poor returns insisting that they stay exclusively with Microsoft (when brands like Samsung and HTC are doing multiple platforms). Anyway, Nokia was no longer really Nokia since months ago. These are now really Microsoft people carrying the Nokia brand and they probably don't know what makes a Nokia phone (they couldn't care less to dump that name).

The real Nokia guys have been fired by the thousands over the past 2 years.

Is the acquistion including Tablet ? Maybe Nokia can make laptop too, since Sony out from Windows by selling Vaio line.

This is mean from Microsoft. I would only buy a mobile named Nokia. once the name is gone, I will move to another brand, mostly Jolla.
