Nokia's coward management was one of the reason for this. Symbian was slowly losing market share and then Elop came in as CEO, announced WP will be Nokia's main OS which led Nokia to kill off the new MeeGo OS and announce the death of Symbian. If you remember, Microsoft wasn't in hurry back then to improve the WP OS as they are now, which clearly made it clear that Microsoft wanted Nokia to bleed out and then buy the company for dirt cheap price. Nokia was bought by Microsoft for less than the price it paid to acquire Skype. Samsung is the king in Android space just because there's no Nokia. Had Nokia gone with Android and kept Symbian and MeeGo developing, this day wouldn't have come. No more WP.

AnonD-246216, 22 Apr 2014Job well done, Elop. Job well done.I guess they'll give him a huge bonus for saving them billions.

Ran Nokia-mobile down so MS could buy it for trifles, A great Trojan Horse job!

It is amazing what there are no laws against. Morally he will burn in eternity for this, but for now he will be covered in gold. Yikes!!

I wish wp would make funny sounds when flipping the tiles, like the horn and that sound when clowns squeeze each others nose, even better.

                          I have the same feelings,

MS are fighting uphill against their own history of really poor coding.

After having been so 'burnt' by their earlier horrible attempts, I still hesitate on WP, awaiting some friends around me to take the plunge first, and IF their verdict is that it has actually finally become stable and useful, well then they might get a chance.

That I really dislikes the tile-look on both phones and PCs does not make their chances better.

this is a Nokia failure too much egoism, they don't listen the market want and go to support the ugly platform.

So 25th is the day to drink to Nokia handsets death. I dont know, maybe i do it tonight instead, my feelings for Nokia never been that strong, im just not that much of a fanboy of any brands.

Too bad Nokia wasnt able to go with WP into the era of usability, with WP8.1 it seems like it is finally not a big joke anymore. I havent tested it though, it may be just as crappy an experience in real life still.
