Chona, 18 Mar 2009Yes, those combination of features are unique to the iphone... moreI see you you still haven't leaned yet CAPTIAN SAVE AN IPHONE. Ranting and raving about how good the iphone is when in reality, it has less features than low end cell phones out there yet it is put in the high-end phone catigory. You stated if there was a better phone, you would of bought it, but in reality, you didn't have the high-end money that a REAL high-end phone cost and due to your addiction to the hype, you got stuck in a 2 year contract with a phone that relies on itunes to make it appear great. If you were smart, you would have saved your money to buy an all-in-one cellphone that's great for social blogging and ect.... If you were out of contract with at&t befor you purchased the iphone 3G, you would still be out of contract and saving more money on your data plan.

iphone haters are looking sillier and sillier. Now that the iphone has put in the missing features that they've been complaining about, they now attack Apple on why only now? LOL. Does it really matter? The most important thing is, those missing features are now there, plus other cool stuff (see gizmodo site for details). Now the iphone has the basic features found in other phones, plus it's existing great features already present, plus it's already great UI, I don't know what else to say. The iphone is just a great phone, and it's even greater now. I can wait for the update. I heard that the new iphone would not come out till next year. So I guess for this year, it would only be a this major OS firmware update, which means, the 3rd generation iphone that is set for release in 2010 would even have more features, but probably more hardware than software, like a higher megapixel and maybe vid recording. Nevertheless, this is really exciting for iphone owners. Haters should just leave.

Great, hopefully it will improve year after year, sincerally. In the meantime, as I need/use it, I'll keep using my current phone as a wifi access point with 3g internet conection, using text-to-speech to read books, email and web pages aloud to me everyday to make use of time gaps, I'll take pictures even in total darkness and won't regret having forgotten my camera, I'll customize completly the way it looks, sounds and acts once in a while, I'll use my turn-by-turn Garmin GPS software, I'll be able to see web pages with full flash support (most of them) when I need them, I won't lose my favorite tv programs even abroad thanks to sling box mobile, I will listen to local FM stations while traveling.......well.....I need more meat to switch to the iphone, which is a fabulous phone....but until Apple let it shine...I can't....I need more features. Besides competition is keeping up

Wow, very nice updates. are we missing something? i am "email" person, for attachment seems what we can do is go to "Photos", select (1 or more) and email. how about create new message with attachment such as documents etc? we know there's "documents" from Savy Soda which let us create xls and text documents, it would be nice if we can send these files via email...like other phones.

When did proximity sensors, multi-touch, bigger displays, accelerometers became popular on phones? It was after the iphone. As I have asked you, name me a Nokia, SE or Samsung phone that has those combination of features before the iphone was released. Even up to now, except for some Nokia phones, Samsung and SE still suffers legibility under direct sunlight to a point that you have to look for a shade or cover its display with your hand just to see what's on the screen. No need to cover the iphone's display under direct sunlight because it's still as clear as it is under the shade. Learn to understand and comprehend. If the iphone sucks, I wouldn't have bought it =)

Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and LG (if possible) can you guys pleeeaaaassseeees come out with your own official app store so I can stop using my iPhone? I'm tired of sacrificing hardware for software, I need both! So all you phone CEOs please come with an appstore at least just a little bit similar to apples so I can put my iPhone in storage. That's one of the only reasons why I still keep my iPhone, plus I'm incredibly lazy and the iPhone is the official lazy mans phone because of how easy it is to do anything. Thank you apple for helping raise the laziness rate by 20000% in only 2 years. Thank you thank you.
