Why apple why? Why so late with this simple update? Could have done this 2 yrs ago, we had the technology. Must be lazy or something oh well. Guess I'm gonna have to update my iPhone a week after this software comes out because I know the iTunes server is gonna be "out of order" just like last year.

Oh... and you know iphone sucks... just admit it...

I've just explained the reasons behind it the way I understand them (and I'm sure you wouldn't be able to deny them, unless you are representing Apple)...that's not hyping in any way. I'm not damning nor praising the devise. It's to everyones personal needs, must admit not to mine currently but who knows in the future - maybe...:)

Everyone must realise this OS revolutionised the industry, despite lacking simple features. But what it does is provide the most logical interface, with excellent touch and the best data and music options on the market. Now they have finally let go a little and are more open to it being modified by third parties, which is positive. Remember this is just a free software upgrade, when the next actual phone comes out, I am sure they will make sure all the basics will now be there, but with something revolutionary. All this upgrade is doing is making sure no other OS has anything on it and keeping ahead of the pack. New hardware will allow them to expand more on the OS so just wait till the next full phone. I have used many phones, omnia, 5800, n96, n95 8gb, numerous htc's, but the iphone is still by far the best os.

Zorkor, 17 Mar 2009"Too little too late Apple"
You are talking about featur... moreHey Zorkor, Apple is doing just fine without you =) Who cares if you're disappointed. Stick with your Nokia. You deserve it =)
I can't believe these antagonists. Before, they were attacking the iphone for its missing features. Now that the iphone has included those missing features on its new OS, they still complain and say "why only now?". LOL. You guys should just let the iphone be. What a bunch of sourgrapers.

You sure do not know how to understand simple english. Touch HD, Omnia HD, Idou, Arena, etc came way after the iphone was released. Still, all of them suffer legibility under direct sunlight. Also, before the iphone, how many Nokia, Samsung and SE phones have 3.5 displays with accelerometer and full touchscreens with multi touch? They still don't have multi touch now, lol...duh =)

Either you like it or you don't. If you do not like it, then you really don't have any business here =)

I don't know what's the hype about Apple being so slow of implementing simple features???
I'm sure they're trying to put an "i" prefix first to everything (sometimes quite successfully I should admit), so that they could cash in from patents and if not successful they give up as they did in this OS upgrade!!! You can see if you watch video how embarrassed they are during Q&A time at the end of the conference when asked about those simple features. They still working on other "i" features, which the rest of the world already has and if won't succeed - you'll get them sometime much later when again the rest of the world will start implementing something new, don't worry.
best!

roosevelt, 17 Mar 2009i can see now you are a crash dummy. first of all nokia has... moreAnd I can see that you are just bitter with jealousy and envy over the iphone's success. Nokia's Music and OVI Store is very iTunes and App Store inspired. So is the N97 and their 5800. We are not naive. Nokia is very aware of the iphone's existence in the market, hence they introduced the 5800 and now the N97, so please spare us w/ your playing innocent. This news was not posted so you can start a war between the N97 and the iphone. Go to your N97 if you feel that the iphone has nothing good to offer you. There were other touchscreen phones even before the Prada. No one even heard of the Prada phone when the iphone was released. You do not own an iphone so please stop lying. All firmware updates are free with the iphone, so yes, you are wrong.

"Too little too late Apple"
You are talking about features which we all have used waaaaayyy before. The only thing which is worth mentioning is Copy and Paste. Eveyrthing else has been crossed out. For me the biggest deal breaker would have been Flash Video support. I am not buying any high end phone which doesnt support flash video.
Heck even my 2 years old Nokia E61i supports and plays full flash video on Youtube by using a free (You hear that apple?) Skyfire browser.
Im so disappointed in you Apple....

Momo, 17 Mar 2009Go calculate what your paying a month from your iphone bill... moreMomo, everyone pays extra for data plans, not just with the iphone. Add to that 3g data plan, so you have to expect it to be a little bit more pricey compared to other data plans. I find a lot of apps very entertaining and useful. I think you're just full of it =)

I for one am VERY excited to finally see some of these features. The times when I've really ever needed most of whats to come, now that I think of it, are few and far between. However, the addition of many of these features will only make my near-perfect experience with the iphone that much closer to the perfect experience. A2DP is a nice addition, and copy paste is obviously quite useful. Push notification services is also very nice, and a MUCH more efficient method of "multitasking". Instead of running everything at once, why not only run what NEEDS running, for example, getting an IM from MSN messenger or a notification on Facebook. Multitasking on a phone, with its currently limited memory and processing power, not to mention screen real estate, is just not smart. While many other phones are rising up to the challenge that is the Iphone, I look forward to seeing what other developers, including apple, do to beat the competition.
