Neb, 23 Apr 2014Didn't they claim you can hide this phone under z1 or z2 ?!Yes, they showed a photo supposedly hiding the phone under a Z1. But it was peaking out a bit, if you looked closely. It was bogus PR, since this phone is 2 mm wider (and the Z1 is a beefy phone in it's own right).

Compare this phone's dimensions (152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm) to the Galaxy Note 3 (151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm). The OnePlus One is larger in every dimension, except it's 3.3 mm less wide, but it's taller and thicker. This is much closer to a phablet than the norm for flagship smartphones these days.

OnePlus claimed they were putting a 5.5" screen in a 5" phone. They based this claim on the comparison to the very large (for it's screen size) Z1 (144 x 74 x 8.5 mm). But the OnePlus One's dimensions eclipse the Z1. It's obvious that they have put a 5.5" screen in a 5.5" phone. Look at the Nexus 5 (137.9 x 69.2 x 8.6 mm), that's a well designed 5" phone; it's 1.5 cm shorter than the OnePlus One, 6.7 mm less wide, and even a little thinner.

In the end, the OnePlus One seems like a nice phone for what it is. But I don't now why the company leaders stuck their necks out with a claim about size, that was obviously going to be bogus; and for those who couldn't see it coming, it would be obvious once the phone is actually released. It's like lying about your weight on a dating site. Do you think your dates won't notice when you meet in person?

It's the best phone in the market right now. Before comparing with xperia z2, galaxy s5 or one m8 please look at their prices. The price is even lower than those nexus devices !!! Just 100 USD more than the Moto g !

3100 mah battery is too small for such a phone. They should have put at least 3500 mah battery. Even my 4.5" phone has 3000mah battery. And what about optical image stabilization?

First I was sad that it wasn't launching in Aussie. With these dimensions I don't care anymore. Was too good to be true anyway

5.5 inch should be called a phablet, not smartphone. Still a fan of the one though.
