AT&T to finally offer unlocked contract-free iPhones 3G

Note: The source does NOT say the phones will be unlocked, just that they will be no-contract. I'd like to know where this "unlocked" thing came from. Until I see more on that, I'm not even remotely getting my hopes up.

Well, that doesn't affect me cos I'm British. I just hope we're one step closer to Apple making the iphone available through all networks! Cmon Apple, pretty please with sugar on? :)

1. Iphone has a bigger display

3. IPhone has a glass display while 5320 has a plastic one
4. Iphone has way larger internal memory
5. Iphone has a qwerty keyboard
6. Iphone has wifi while 5320 does not
7. Iphone has a more capable web browser
8. Iphone has better rendering of web pages
9. Iphone can zoom in and out pages and photos better
10. Iphone has convenient access to over 25,000 apps
Now those are just SOME advantages of the iphone over your Nokia 5320. With that stated, how can your Nokia phone be more fun than the iphone? Sorry, but it looks like your Nokia 5320 looks more like a junk phone than the iphone. But you know what? I respect your choice, but don't come in here insulting the iphone and its owners. It's time for you to grow up.

My 5320 XpressMusic is more fun than the iPhone... Also better in every aspect I've found so far, excluding the memory difference but I'd rather lose 7.88 gigs and not have iTunes than have the 8 gigs and have to use that junk.

It's AT&T thats offering the handset without a simlock. That's why it's only available to current AT&T customers only. If it was Apple's call, it would be available unlocked here in the UK from O2 as well. The price is unsubsidized, because there's no simlock makes complete sense, original iphone customers will still be able to upgrade. It probably is a method of clearing stock for a new one coming out in july. And no, were not looking for better alternatives, because there aren't. iPhone Generation 3 for me in July.

96% customer satisfaction, highest ever of any mobile phone ever released. Almost half of customers never owned an Apple product before, including me.
After owning an Apple product you realize just how good it is, Im gonna sell my Dell laptop and buying a macbook as soon as I can afford it. The level of detail, intuitiveness, worksmanship, ease of use, quality of parts, customer service, innovation, the list goes on. Apple exceeds in all theese points FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR beyond any other manufacturer. Its about as close to perfect as you can get. %and theres n reasons for any exclusions.
No MicroSD? Apple never like bits coming in and out of their phones, avoiding moving parts when possible, thats why all their Macs have slot loading optical drives. Same reason for the design of the Sim card tray and exclusion of a removable back cover/battery.

If you dont like iPhone, good because it means you probbaly like phones with horrible interfaces and crippled internet, and you play scooter and ultrabeat on your phone and you bluetooth animated gifs cartoon porn and probably have a fast and furious theme, and your message alert is probably something very annoying too. Apple dont want customers like that.

That's not a big offer from Apple but a big deal for their own sake, coz it is found (unlocked)everywhere at this very price. So don't get so excited for this offer.

Yes! this is what i've been waiting for! this will benefit me coz i travel a lot (going back to the phils.) and i am really waiting for an unlock iphone! i am not into those jailbreaking the iphone... at least its the legal way! nice move AT&T! i dont care spending $700, it's just money! i can earn it in just 2 hours of my working time! haha!
