AnonD-85242, 30 Apr 2014finally a good move from Samsung for NOT classifying this c... morethere was Korean-only Samsung Galaxy K (SHW-M130K) few years ago.
and it basically an Galaxy S in different wrapping.
so, based on that fact, you can also call this Samsung Galaxy K Zoom as Samsung Galaxy S Zoom.

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2014Very disappointing. The sensor size is just 1/2.3 inch when... moreMeanwhile you have not used it and it will probably one up the S5 for best camera...aside from 1020 and 8o8 of course.

Very disappointing. The sensor size is just 1/2.3 inch when phones like Nokia 808 has bigger sensor size in less bulky body, no intensive LED flash and on full zoom this Galaxy K Zoom camera will allow less light to enter the camera and you'll end up with an under exposed and not so good image. Only good thing is this camera is bit slimmer than the S4 Zoom and offers zoom in a smartphone.

Samsung needs to combine the Note, S, Zoom, and Beam into one outstanding device.

I wonder who's sensor is actually better?
Samsung'a isocell in S5 or the one in Z2? S5's performs better...but we also know how Samsung can tune the cameras better. Makes you wonder. Or would the results still be black and white?

AnonD-7043, 29 Apr 2014Sorry, but normal consumer doesnt care about the technicali... moreIt can't beat Nokia because the 1020 and 8o8 had more than double the pixels. When Purview has a 20mp even Samsungs 13mp was overall better. Raw mode helps too though. You compare a great 40mp to a great 16mp. What do you expect.
And spec wise the zoom is still decent.

gggggg, 29 Apr 2014It's sony sensor by the way so how could be better, all sg ... moreBecause Samsung can make Sony's sensor work better than Sony can. And the S1 also had a Samsung made camera.
So s2 - s4. That's it. And Samsung for years before that made their own that worked better. And have proven again with their own who is better still

Want a good camera, buy one! There are nikons, cannon's, olympuses, etc.

Don't expect an smartphone will replace that, it can be close but not the same.

This samsung surely has its niche, good luck

finally a good move from Samsung for NOT classifying this cameraphone as "S5 zoom", coz it has a very low/mid tier smartphone specs.

Sr for my bad English but have u ever use the 1020? Owned it for a month, picture quality is way lower than when i expected. 5mp photos look good but they are so small. Even i shoot in RAW or JPEG, 38mp or 34mp, put those photo on my computer, can't compare with the galaxy S5. Just visit some photography blog and see their comment about 1020. Lot of them are disapointted. Always thought Lumia is the best in camera but changed my mind once got 1020.

isnt the battery a little small for such a powerful Camera and Lens!

All you doubters did you go and look up the shots on flick? You might want to. The full res shots are more than a match for the 38MP shots from the 1020.

The 1020 clearly wins hands down in oversampled 5MP shots, that's a given and it is obvious but if you are going to compare the full resolution shots then the K Zoom is a good match in all the conditions. Low light has vastly improved over the S4 zoom.

But I might not still get it because the battery life wont be anywhere close to the Note 3 Neo by the looks of things. Battery life is everything for me only then comes the good camera.

The Z2 is already proving to be a battery monster on other sites who have done their tests. Expect to be surprised by the Z2 over the Z1 flop.

Thickness is 21 mm with lens thickness considered, not 16 mm.

It's certainly better looking than last year's effort...
But I have to say, with all that bulk, could they a) not have put a better battery in it (which would then have meant better screen resolution / processor) and b) surely the actual lens could have been larger / better for low-light shots (that fact it's the same as standard mobiles, negates the benefit of the zoom)...

Don't get me wrong, I really wanted to like this, as for my next phone I really want a camera that sings...

This unfortunately isn't quite good enough... roll on the 1820... time for a sweeping change across the board I reckon (although this is now a viable phone alternative, unlike the S4 Zoom) - it's quite a nice looking beast actually!

Let's hope the handset variations continue! Nobody wants to have a handset that looks like every other device out there... (well I don't, anyway)
