Empiricist, 05 May 2014i was thinking to sign up a contract on Lumia 1320 because ... moreHi many of these free apps you are going to use first analyze that. Most of the (good) free apps which are there on Android has their presence in Windows app store or has some alternative in Windows App store. It is not about how much it is about quality that these free apps gives. Not all the free apps on Android are good. Besides that all these apps consumes so much battery that Android device will not last more than 16Hrs. I am not Nokia fan boy, I have both Android as well as Nokia mobile and I feel both are equally good depending upon your usage. Lumia is still evolving and Android has much more junk code.

And I hate this decision. One of the top rated and the best apps with no competition what so ever is Nokia HERE maps. And if they are giving it to android or ios I dont like it. They are just killing themself and making it easy for companies like SameSung who just wait for a chance to put everything on there phones. Nokia has to make better decisions.

they're now a mapping company , so they don't have any reason to keep their "here" experience exclusive to microsoft , unless they make a deal with microsoft to make it exclusive, but as far as i know they're not.

and it's more profitable for a nokia to give their map to iOS and android as a mapping company

Nokia lose their independence in 2010 when they signed contract with Elop-Microsoft. They should try Android - if they make good phones like Nokia N8, 808 PureView with Android (good camera ofc later), if they add Maps and put the same components like others they will beat them easily. Even if Nokia will be 2-3rd in smartphone market producer it will be better then lose phone part of company.
Best know phone brand + rapidly growing popularity Android + good phones = good result.
Nothing stands in the way to make some phones with Windows Phone like Samsung, LG or HTC did, but only a madman choose WP on only OS. Anroid + WP or Android + MeeGo + WP and Nokia can prepared to fight...but management, shareholders want fast change, fast money (so why donttake the risk ?)...maybe agreement with Microsoft was strongly unfavorable ?

At Google Play MS Office for Android is the smallest and oddest of a half dozen Office Suits for Android.
Android users just don't want MS Office.

Why would Android users want Nokia Here, when there are a dozen other navigation apps and services around already.
Everything from shipping charts, to "orienteering" maps and of course several roadmaps/in car nav.

The only reason I'm using WP on my Nokia 920 is because of the excellent HERE Maps and I don't like WP because I'm used to Android nowadays because in Android you have the freedom. I want this features in WP: file manager, native video calling support, option to install apps from unknown sources and backup apps on SD card for later installation like in Android you can backup installed apps on your SD card using Astro file manager

Nokia "Here" is best offline map in mobile world, even Google map can't come close.
As for as WP or MS is concern, they don't have any business with nokia "here". It's totally independent arm of Nokia. Nokia has all rights to release for any platform.

Android and ios users will be lucky to get a chance to use such a premium app. Even paid.
