Further developments, for example, lockscreen widget support etc. And Google Now was introduced. And KitKat made it optimized for 512 ram.

n i dont regret it cz many apps that i needed were missing from wp store n there is no customization option either.. i have use android n i flash diffrnt custom roms to change the looks n features, i own iphone too , jailbreaking it made that customizable too ..
bt u cant do these things with wp os , can u ??
for basic use , wp os isnt bad , i agree on that

However, one of the caveats of running the Dev Preview release is that there is no guarantee of full driver support for all makes and models - in fact, that's the big risk with trying it. Perhaps the Icon is a model that doesn't work well on the dev release.
So I'm not sure it adds much to the conversation to say that the developer release which is supposed to offer spotty hardware support actually has just that. Now if you update to the public release in late June, and still have Wi-Fi issues, then you have a legit gripe.

Have been running 8.1 Dev Preview on Nokia Icon for a few weeks now and it has SERIOUS WiFi issues...not sure if it is the Icon itself, 8.1 or a combo of both but WiFi is almost unusable.

Having just the "Most Popular Apps" isn't all users require. I for one use several "not popular apps and games" that are available on Android and iOS.
As for hanging, my 1520 seems to have that issue when moving from 2 particular games to home screen. It freezes the phone completely and just says RESUMING and I had to wait until the battery dies and recharges just to get the phone to function again. Of course I deleted the games right after.
All of that to say that Windows OS isn't as rock solid as it's supporters claim it to be.

Im a lumia 720 user and this phone is awesome. Midrange, Ram is no lag on this phone, superb battery life + battery saver, camera is 8/10, internet is good. Top apps are there. my friend got a high-end s4 phone but everytime he see my phone it made him jelous. Now his a 920 user and never lookback to android os. And Soon im gonna switch to 930 or 1020

been using wp 8.1 so far and i like it, except
-need more option to select shortcut in notification -data on/off
-network connection sometimes buggy, needs experiment on network, wifi sense, internet sharing setting to make it work
-letter indication on app drawer should removed, its annoying, save space as its tiring browsing down so long, i dont use search
-grid option in app drawer should be added

they just changef version number from 4.0 to 4.4 in name of bug fixes lol google

About time. Android has gone from ICS to KitKat in the time it's taken Microsoft to get its act together. Let's hope WP 8.1 is competitive against Android, as WP 8 isn't. At all. Not even remotely.
