Samsung could have won their case in the US where it all began but it's either the courts didn't want to look at prior art evidence (for physical design), or the lawyers dragged the case forever to earn more or it actually helped Samsung to gain name recognition because hey, HTC quietly paid up when they got sued by Apple, Samsung didn't because they can afford to drag this forever like Apple and besides, why should they meekly accept it from a company that had to buy hardware parts from them before?

Why should any of us care? Tech is the way it is today due to companies taking existing ideas & improving upon them. EVERY company has done & will continue to do so.
People pretend that Google didn't copy Apple's MacBook. It's a total rip off of the MacBook Air down to its black rounded keys, track-pad and the recess right where the lid opens.
MacBook. ChromeBook? LOL....Even the name is a rip-off.
Do I care? Not at all.

Well you see google is not a joke it rules the internet unlike samsung ms and google brought revolution so suing them will not easy and sammy is still young compare to them . Adults tends to bully the youngs

When they say they came to an arangement they probably mean that one party accepted to pay the other to dismiss the lawsuit and i'm pretty sure it's apple who agreed to pay google . So they will try to get that money back by sueing other company's and probably samsung but sinds last time they had to pay something back to samsung they are starting to realise that they won't win forever . It will happen sooner or later

Apple has already cited that it was never about the money, but the fact that Samsung willfully stole Apple's intellectual property. In that regard, Apple proved its case and Samsung was found guilty.
I'm not sure how it was Android that was the culprit, when the claim by Apple had to do with Samsung's designs and TouchWiz UI.
It's a little ironic that Apple & Google can come to an agreement, but Apple never once thought about letting those crooks Samsung off the hook.
In short, Pay up Samsung, chumps.
