AnonD-94238, 22 May 2014I will NEVER buy a Windows phone. And yes I have used WP... moreWell I am very sorry you feel that way because you are backing out on an OS that is just reaching its maturity and have a lot to afor, sometime its not a problem with the OS but with the company that makes the phone, for right now the best WP phone you can trust its made by Nokia, buying from any other company you are at risk, I own lumia 1520 and its the best WP i have ever use' maybe too big for must people but it realy get the job done, downside is No good free GPS, Batery take for ever to fully charge but last for two day with moderate use.

WP has 99% of the functionality you'd expect from iOS and android, what you mostly won't find for WP is tonnes of stupid optimizers and cleanup apps and similar useless gadgets that make android users feel like they're doing something important other than wasting their time.

Android need powerful processors to run smooth buth wp doesnt and the best example is lumia 520

When I bought L520, I had no Wi-Fi hotspot enabled devices. I had to wait until I bought a laptop to update my phone for the first time, the gdr2 update. Every time you've to connect to wifi before you can download an app or game more than 100 MBs.

Now the new wp8.1 also have many flaws. Like no mobile data on-off toggle in the action bar, music player is just horrible, also hoped that they'll disable the Wi-Fi dependency.

I will NEVER buy a Windows phone.

And yes I have used WP; they took a dump on all users when they announced WP8 will not support "older" devices...those devices weren't even 1 year old, some of them freshly released (Lumia 900 anyone?).

I had so much faith in WP that I was dumb enough to buy one of the first devices...the result is 1 year of complete failure...

There is a reason why WP is still crappling at lower 1-digit % marketshare...they screwed with customers who trusted them.

                    Never ever WP

Just for THAT alone I wil NOT buy a Windows Phone device EVER again. They screwed me with my Lumia800/900 and now I screw them!

Secondly I don't want to make the richest man on the planet richer (while I stay poor).

I doubt they release WP9 that soon. I expect WP9 will be announced alongside desktop Windows 9 release, make things easier to remember. Win9.x for dekstop, WP9.x for smartphones.

If they really bring WP9 next year, I hope MS lower the requirement for WP apps development. I hate when you have to use 64-bit Win8 machine to develop WP8 apps.

Have used Windows phone 7 and 7.5 and 8 and 8.1, it's a slick OS and very fluid but basics are rubbish. Contacts and messaging all have to be integrated with rubbish social media crap and the views are too cluttered. When I open my contacts, I want to see my contact details only, I don;t want to see what they posted, the last sms or message they sent, what they're eating for breakfast or other pointless drivel that nobody is interested in. If you want a good phone for the corporate business world, Windows phone sure as hell 'aint it.
