This phone is like 3 years older than the iPhone 5s and it still works properly (even the fingerprint scanner). Samsung makes cheap plastic phones, and Motorola made many with kevlar (thats what bulletproof suits are made of) back.

candya$$, 30 May 2014Hate Lenovo, not just only for this. Favorite phone company... moreIf it's down, it's failed by a STUPID AMERICAN COMPANY. Google own Motorola Mobility during the entirety of Moto X lifespan (and better part of 2014) - which is why the factory was built and now to be closed.
Wake up!!! Americans FAILED Motorola. Lenovo is merely picking up the slack.
I'm excited about Lenovo taking control. They ACTUALLY CARE about the Motorola brand, unlike Google, and if anything, they are the most competent candidate to REVIVE the Motorola brand.

We saw every Motorola phone being releasead in Brazil, the company is known by it's quality and iconic design since V3, E8, U9...some Windows Mobile smartphones like Motorola Q11, and then the Droids, by the date Motorola was the only releasing Androids with full physical keyboard...it's not a bad company, it is important to the Mobile communications history, alongside with Nokia and Apple...

In China you only pay property tax once every 70 years or so give and take a couple decades depending on where you live. See what happens if you don't pay property tax every year. I bet the national government will kick your ass out of your own house faster then you can say WTF just happened...... Trust me I live mainly in the US and by law if the government wants your property they get your property, they have to pay fair market value. Before you sign your mortgage read it carefully you don't have air rights and you dont have ground rights. Burning dirty coal, are you kidding me, US is just as bad when it comes to pollution. By carbon foot print US is probably larger then China. I love the US and think its the greatest country in the world but make sure you get your facts straight.

Who come up with the fake bit that Lenovo is closing the plant? Google is losing money badly from that Texas plant so they trim the employee from 4000 to 700 and finally decided to just sell Motorola all together. The sale to Lenovo haven't closed yet and will take to the end of the year to close.

[deleted post]The communism is gone in China since the economic reform of 1979, since that year China policy consisted what could be describe as some kind of authoritarian state controlled capitalism, see that any member or friend from the state party or a big corporation can make business in China very easy, easy as long you are in "good" terms with the chinese government.
Oh and almost everything we use everyday is made in China, even the same clothes you are wearing right now.

"Saving cost of shipping"? Motorola, you focus on us market too much. To make the brand /model successful, you need to take on the world. So keep that in mind, manufacture in China is the only solution.

You make it sound like the Chinese government is evicting people left and right for their own agenda. Land in China for the most part is leased out in 40 to 70 year terms depending on the use (residential, industrial, tourism, education, etc...) and for that term it's more or less theirs. If they want to cancel or otherwise evict them, they must settle. Google "China Nail House" to see some interesting photos of what happens when there's one hold-out left. Only in absolute extreme cases are people forcefully evicted (such as when they needed to demolish some hutongs for 2008 olympic venues and I think again for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai).
Chinese over here are laughing at the falling of the west and you people are still over there feeling sorry for the Chinese. In the raise and fall of world power this is the most epic blindside ever.

a person put that this phone is not a quad core, he is right... its an OCTA CORE... a CHEAP OCTACORE... but they put his OCTACORES in divisions 4 is for process another 2 for media and another 2 for voIce comands... Hope this answer make the good choice for you...

Google made a hell for motorola by making most devices as USA only available.Motorola products are not available in most promising markets.It is good for motorola to use China for manufacturing their products & make it available to whole world.Good move by Motorola.
