Samsung Omnia HD will still be called that way in most countries

9 April, 2009
We were contacted by Samsung with a clarification on a matter that spread like wildfire online yesterday - the naming for the upcoming Omnia HD. Yesterday's rumor had it that Samsung will be ditching...

Spyros/Cesar.s.c., 13 Apr 2009N97 will sell more than i8910, only because it is a Nokia. ... moreYou contradict yourself by saying that it will sell more because it is a Nokia (indicating that Nokia is the more popular/poweful brand) yet going on to say Samsung is better?

If the units are selling (which as you agree they will) do you think Nokia care about the price or design? Its all about profit, units and market share.

Almon, 12 Apr 2009As if! How are you so sure? Do you have like a crystal ball... moreIm so sure because I have seen the sales figures of the original Omnia vs N96 - N96 killed it in terms of units sold. The N96 was quite a poor phone.
Nokia N97 will sell more than the Omnia HD and that my friend will be a fact when they are launched. Its the latest N series and like it or loathe it, the name alone will make it more popular than the Omnia HD, the proof is in the pudding my friend and we will see that come June/July.

Nokia are still number 1 (at around 32% total market share) and frankly I cant see any devices being launched by rivals that will really effect that with the exception of the Tocco Ultra which may well see a rise in Samsung's share.
The only people Nokia should be worried about are Apple, because if they make a move in the market i.e release multiple devices then we could really see a battle.

            I like it.
It seems to have good features.
But come on, how many of you will actually use MS Excel on this.
And people who will say that its UI is not up to the mark compared to the iPhone will then have to face the fury of the Omnia HD's god-like camera and its incredible movie viewing experience.

im planning to buy the i900 omnia.. but come to think with it.. i rather wait for this phone to be released.. i think the price would not differ that much.. as for the releasing price of the i900 omnia which is 450 euro(now 350 euro 100 less ^^,) i hope.. the price would be just around 500-600 euro..(finger cross)hey that's not bad.. coz the original omnia has bigger processor which is 624MHz than the new one which only has 600MHz the only advantage of it..it has good hd video and 8 pixels on it.. regards ko sa akng auntie na naa sa u.k xna palitan ko niya pra maka libre ko hehe lub you te og sa tanang visaya og tagalog dnha lub u ol.. ^^

the n97 is a phone of immense bulk, and even a slight preference for comfort would mean to choose omnia hd. besides, the samsung integration for UI featured on the omnia hd, is times better than the plain UI of the n97. and again, the 5mega on the n97 is simply too less for a high-end device. above all, samsung is a company is a company with years of experience in the multimedia field, while nokia is just an amateur, as proved by its phones.
