Bye bye Nokia, 17 Apr 2009The market is punishing Nokia just like it has to do!
No... more6300 being a "good phone"?
A friend of mine uses 6300, which I've a real hard time to hear what he says, even in moderate noisy environment.
Meanwhile, my other friend is using Moto U9 (with Crystal Talk) and once he was at a night market, he called me and I thought he was at home. (being so quiet)
If a phone can't even provide "basic" clear conversation, how come it can be considered as a "good PHONE"?

[deleted post]How strange, a phone that hasn't been launched managed to win the prize for Best Mobile Imaging device launched in the last 12 months.
I wonder how much Nokia paid for that.
Those awards must be rigged.

No... moreNokia have been doing that for years, look at their first flip phone, prompted by the success of the Razr, it was woeful design when you plugged the headphones in you couldn't open the flip.
They rushed out Bluetooth on the 6210, not the first model but an updated one, the 'cyber silver' they also added tri-band and GPRS because the Ericsson T39 was so far ahead.
Their first 'wireless' Bluetooth headset had a wire on it linking the earpiece to this big bug shaped thing you clipped on your pocket.

The market is punishing Nokia just like it has to do!
Nokia has allowed themselves to sit on their ass and not do anything for the last two years, this is the result of this.
Since the N95 they did not release a single competitive mobile phone. Their phones are just the same old phones with new housings. With cheap housings that is.
And the 5800? We all know that it is a joke! Now the sales figures prove it to! 2 million units sold world wide!!!! That is a huge failure for the formal number one in the world. And no wonder, the 5800 is the worst phone ever made.
It is simple – Nokia is out of ideas, they were not doing any innovation in the last two years. And they really let their build quality to go down. All of their phones are just cheap plastic (except the 6300 which is a really good phone).
Face it Nokia – you are going down! Samsung will take you over with storm this year.
Pathetic… after two years they still do not have a single phone which can compare to the iPhone
NOKIA IS GOING DOWN!..... FAST!!

[deleted post]Based on what you said, can you advise exactly how iphone users "get paid" to own an iphone?
Because my wife, and at least 2 other friends of mine, are iphone users and none of them get paid by Apple. On the contrary, we paid at least US$300~$400 with 2 years contract to get the phone.
My manager has been keeping her iphone longer than any other phone she used before, can you explain why?
The almighty brand, who is so good at releasing dozens of models every week (if not day) is killing itself.
When users take out an iphone, most people can easily recognize such is the iphone.
With dozens and hundreds of models being released by the almighty brand, can "non-almighty brand" users easily recognize if such phone is 5730 vs. E75 or E63 vs. E71 or 6710 vs. 6260 or 6700 vs 2700, or being confused with the different versions of 3110?

KTHubbybunch, 19 Apr 2009well... its about time for the Noks to start making more af... moreNokia sells hundred's of millions of 'affordabble' phones, these figures show that there's not much money in it.
Apple and Blackberry sell a fraction of the phones Nokia sells yet they make a lot more money from them.
Nokia needs competitive high end handsets not just reworkings of the N95.

Anonymous, 19 Apr 2009let me give an example.
if the company's total rvenue is... moreEither that or busy selling a billion Apps and millions of songs because they are not only relying on hardware.
Something Nokia wants to emulate with 'comes with music' and Ovi store.
Except due to a lot of phone users who expect something for nothing, Nokia's plans won't work too well.

let me give an example.
if the company's total rvenue is 100b, and the profit is 20b, it meant that the cost of the phone is high and they did not charge too much extra.
if revenue is 100b and profit is 75b, dosent it make sense that that company is actually sucking money off ur sorry ass?
make it simple. apple is over charging you for buying their Iphone and thx to brainless Iphone hippies, u got ripped by apple. GG.

N85 s better when comparing with N96. Bfr N96 lanuch, it ws a big fuss, but after launch......nothing. Even da N97 will also be da same & it won't b a success. If Nokia hs included a 8 MP cam to N85, it cud hav bein da bst Nokia phone yet!!!!
Wht Nokia shud do nw s to come up wit a ground breaking phone range!!! Wht N series was!!! N range s nw in it's maturity & if dey aren't doin any thing new, it will decline fr sure. Nokia has to do better dan N86 8MP & N97........N86 8MP s much better compare to N97.....which is a disappointment!!!!!

Shinigami, 19 Apr 20092.8 million 5800s sold to customers in 3 months. Now dig up... moreAt the launch of the iPhone 3G it took 72 hours to sell the first million.
It will be interesting to see how many Apple sold since November.
I guess we'll have to wait until the 22nd to find out by how many iPhone sales beat 5800 sales.
Apple make a lot more profit from each iPhone than Nokia make from each 5800.
