[deleted post]Well no one is questioning anyone's freedom here sir. Only their IQ, lol.
No, you are wrong. As of the moment, there is no camera phone that can match current digital camera quality. Not even your pixon. Does it have anti-shake? Can it record videos in HD like my Canon can? What's its ISO settings? How many preset photo functions does it have? Does it have digital and optical zoom? Does it have smile and face detection? Go to the Canon's website and check out photos taken from Canon cameras.
Well if you pay for my plane tickets I wouldn't mind going to Malaysia. I'll pay you back IF you can prove to me that your pixon phone's camera can match my Canon SD camera =)

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2009It's not megapixel but lens quality and Nokia has the Carl ZeissOh so you think it's all about the lens now and not the megapixels, lol. Well how about the photo processor in the camera? You think your N96 has better lens than Canon and a better photo processor than a Canon's.

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2009He's not dreaming and you are full of crap because my broth... moreYour N96 has near equal quality to a Canon camera, lol. I don't think so. Again, I dare you to meet with me one night and take pictures and compare. Also let's go take pictures of landscapes and running objects. I live here in Long Beach, CA. How much would you bet? I'm serious. Name your price =)
After taking pictures, we'll develop them together and then go out and randomly ask people walking by and ask them which photo looks better =)

David, 17 Apr 2009Who the he** brings along a digital camera all the time? Of... morePeople who takes pictures regularly bring their digital cameras with them all the time, and that totally make sense. If you take pictures most days of the week, you should bring your camera with you as well, unless of course you don't have one, or maybe you don't really care about photo quality. But I find it hard to believe that a person who takes pictures most days of the week is not picky about the quality of the pictures he takes, hmmmm, there's something wrong there.
I only bring my digital camera with me when I have to or when I plan to take pictures. Otherwise, on random occasions, my phone's camera is fine. That is why megapixels on camera phones shouldn't be a big deal. If a person brings a digital camera with him all the time, then that would only mean that, that person likes to takes pictures regular does not compromise quality by taking pictures using a camera phone, and not because he was bullied as a kid or not because he's a nerd, which is what you think so which is a stupid and irrelevant notion. I don't know why you mention the iphone or singling out the iphone when there are a lot of phones out there that does not even have a camera, but since you mentioned it, I think the iphone's camera is good enough for its purpose, and that's to take random photos. You can email the photos right away without having to pay extra charges for MMS. FYI, no need to log in, or memorize an address or type anything. Just tap the photo and tap the mail option and tap your contact and you're done.
Thank you for sending me photos on the train, club, park, town, bar, restaurants, etc. But please send them to me through email next time unless you intend to pay for the extra charges for MMS on my bill. Also, it would have been better if you took those photos using a digital camera instead of low quality pics from your phone.
You must be one of those obnoxious show offs in parties, walking around taking pictures from your phone when nobody is really asking you to because the quality would not be that good anyway, and you end up deleting those pictures after the party anyway because you were just playing around with your phone's camera and showing it off =)

[deleted post]david
it would be fun to debate with you but you are so blinded by your nokia fanboy status that you fail to see the true picture. so let me try to use only small words and simple numbers:
nokia revenue $65B and made $6.5B in 2008
$68B and made $11B in 2007
Apple revenue $34B and made $4.8B in 2008
$24B and made $3.5 in 2007
so with about 1/2 the sales, Apple made almpst 75% as much as Nokia in 2008 and the apple sales and profits grow while Nokia decline.
is that clear enough? Maybe NIkia shouls stick with tyres.

Andrew Tan, 17 Apr 2009Ha! Ha! from which point I said I took photos with phone ev... moreHAHAHA back at you. Why did you reply to my comment then if you do not use your phone to take pictures every day? If you read my post CAREFULLY, I was referring to people who use their phone to take photos every day =)
As I have said, there is nothing wrong with using a high end camera phone to take pictures EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. And please, how can you even say that a camera phone can be as good as a digital camera? How many ISO settings does your Nokia phone have? Does it have digital and optical zoom? Does it have a powerful flash? What kind of photo processor does it have? How much would you bet if I dare you to compare photos taken from your phone and my $300 Canon digital camera (not DSLR)? I'm in Long Beach, CA. Let me know when we can meet and take photos then compare.
If there are other specs, other than megapixels, that you look at in buying a phone, then good for you. You are among the few smart ones =) That is why I don't know why you reacted to my post when it is obviously not for you =)
But hey, if you truly believe that your 5mp Nokia camera can produce standalone digital camera results, then suit yourself =) You said re purchase a digital camera? I thought you already have one. Also, no one is talking about DSLR cameras here. But you know what, people who are into photography would bring their DSLR every where they go, and there is nothing stupid about that because that is their passion and they do take a lot of pictures, unlike you who makes believe that your 5mp camera phone renders the same quality as point and shoot digital cameras, LOL. Dream on.

[deleted post]Who the he** brings along a digital camera all the time? Of course if go to big gatherings or on trips and bring my digital camera. But i do take pics most days of the week, not everyday, casual photos with friends, of something interesting or just object. Do you bring along your digital camera when you go to a sportbar with your friend, maybe if u go to nightclub, or on a short half day trip/outing, to a coffeeshop or on a day of shopping with friends? These are the kinda situations a mobile camera is for, not everday 24/7 use or larger occasions. If u do bring a digital camera to the casual stuff i mentioned above then there are 2 chices, either u were picked on alot as kid or u are just a nerdy schmuck. But of course iPhone users wouldn't enjoy good casual moments with others in lack of mms, no i don't wanna log into my mail, use up network time and battery, and memorize a long number, type it somewhere else and then look at a photo as small as stamp with a magnifying glass, i'm fine, but no thanks.
Thank you for all excellent casual moments on the train, club, park, town, bar, restaurants etc i have captured this last 2 years with 5mp mobile camera and flash.
You must be wearing a suit and tie or having a birthday cake in your mouth on all your photos these last years.

anonymous, 17 Apr 2009so wht u hv said??about ur chice, peoples hv diff choice.u f... moreN82 is fast but not the N96(I still wonder why Nokia pull out hardware acceleration in this unit). This is undeniable. I test it and try it on new set without any program install.
N82, N95 8GB is same speed and speedy thanks for it hardware acceleration.
N96 is lack of it, and if you really compared it, you will notice the slowest part of it. (I not mention those games, only the menu speed already not that smooth and speedy)
I know Symbian drawback is when a lots of apps install inside, it will slow down especially when you install lots of apps that is auto run in background.

anonymous, 17 Apr 2009for ur kind information i will like to tell u somthin about... moreI am the owner of Samsung Pixon. I using it now and I am happy with it, it run smooth and great in photos taken especially the Macro Mode. The Samsung Pixon video taken is not comparable with my ex mobile LG Viewty. It got a ghost effect on moving object.
I choose Samsung Omnia HD not because of it HD video taken. I know it is too slow, it only generate 17fps on the demo set now, this is not acceptable, video only smooth when it is at 24fps for PAL and 30fps for NTSC.
Video capture never been my consideration before because I seldom use it.
I choose Samsung Omnia HD rather than N97 because:
- As I mention before, hardware QWERTY keyboard is not really useful if you can have a decent great touch keyboard.
- Beside the video taken, overall performance looks smoother than N97 at the moment.
- It is slim and not bulky.
- Better Screen even under sun light because the use of AMOLED than LCD by N97.
- Application part I won't mention much because both is under Symbian S60 v5.

anonymous, 17 Apr 2009ohh 1 more thing.N97 will not be a great sell, wht do u mean... moreI am comparing N97 with Samsung Omnia HD.
And N97 is definitely will be same price range with N96 when launch. Not wrong use both for comparison.
N96 is a wow b4 launch, but when it launch people just knew how bad they are, slow, nothing special compared with it previous N-series phone and bulky, ugly with cheap case build.
N97 not even launch but only show some bad point of it, it is too slow the performance.
A phone with lots of function but slow is a piece of crap. (I can't wait every moment when using a phone)

Andrew Tan, 17 Apr 2009Ha Ha! I will choose Samsung Omnia HD rather than N97 when ... morefor ur kind information i will like to tell u somthin about OMNIA HD..okey..so y u hv choose to buy omnia hd.cz its HD video??if that i would lik to let u know that...HD hs poor video quality..video is not smooth.u may notice that the video has been provided by thm is slowlt operated n object r being stucked..cz high res with high frame rate means slow motion video capture...still hollywood movie use VGA 30FPS.i wil congrates u if u pick M8800 pixon cz its better thn HD.watch video again or whn u wil but it during video time move it fastly lik nokia thn u wil got fu*ckin video quality......M8800 is far better thn HD.Smart naming will not alwayse produce smart thing.....

[deleted post]Ha! Ha! from which point I said I took photos with phone everyday?
What wrong took photos with phone? Now's day phone camera can be as good as normal digital camera. (Not mention DSLR, it is not a phone camera price range and it is heavy bulky)
Beside camera spec, this is not the only spec I look for when purchasing a phone. I do use lots of phone function rather than only the camera.
I took when I feel like somethings is special and I know my camera on phone can make a decent nice photos, they is no point I re-purchase a basic digital camera. DLSR is out of my budget and it is too bulky even thought I own it, I won't stupidly bring out everyday.

[deleted post]Ha Ha! I will choose Samsung Omnia HD rather than N97 when official lauch. It is kinda stupid a full touch phone with full QWERTY keypad.
* Remember N97 is touch phone also, and remember 5800 XM also touch. If touch not admired people, what for Nokia follow people release full touch phone?
** Maybe you are more pro user than me. I don't know, I am good knowledge and advanced user in mobile phone but I won't said that I am better than anyone because you good not means you the best.
*** not denied Symbian do install lots of apps, but normal phone which with Java 2.0 support also can install lots of useful program.
**** I do believe believe phone came with better preloaded software is more advantage than you need to purchase(don't talk about piracy steal program) third party program.
