I have had Nokia phones all my life....
However when I see the Quality of bulid from Blackberry and Now Apply I wonder if nokia is in the race at all
Sony Ericsson at one point of time was great they had the p910... after that what
Nokia had the 6210 and the communicator now what.... If they do not com with high quality great build phones .... bye bye Nokia..... motorola faded out... SE is sinking.... is Nokia going to heed the market signs... I hope so

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2009Nokia are loosing money because people all around the world... moreOver roughly the same period RIM's Blackberry profit grew by 25% and for the full year it's profit grew by 46%.
(They use different quarters Dec-Feb)
What this shows is that Nokia is losing out in high profit smartphone segment, sure they may sell hundreds of millions of phone's to dive them #1 but obviously they are not making much money on them.

Nokia are loosing money because people all around the world are loosing their jobs. No money to spend, no phones to buy - it's that simple.
And hey, Nokia is doing FINE. A drop in profit is ... a drop in profit, not a LOSS.
They are still making profit, that is a WIN. When their numbers become red, that's when you need to worry about Nokia's future.

I'm not sure what happened to Nokia... I think was probably the N95 that took all their wind out! Cause they haven't come up with anything innovative since then! The 5800 and N97 you say? They're still infants trying to catch up with the adults! It'll take Nokia maybe another year or more to catch up with Samsung, LG, Apple and even HTC in the touchscreen phone segment... I guess nokia fans and users alike will have to settle for mediocre and outdated devices like the N86... But 'till then, I guess Nokia's profits have yet to hit rock bottom!!

And another thing look at the leader board on the home page of GSMarena
Nokia aren't even in the top 3 for brand rating! (this is my biggest point, i'm just following up with the rest because i know some little n00b 1337 roflcopta dweeb is going to try and be a smartarse and bring up other points so i thought i would get in first)
Sure "by interest" they have all 3 spots but look at the phones.....something like the n95 has got so many votes is because people in phone shops (like me) will constantly refer to it so customers can have a look at the specs, and the other 2 phones....n73 and n70....yeah that speaks for itself...
and yes sure it is also the highest brand for "interest" but refer to the point above.

No wonder they are losing money they have only just caught up with the current technology of the market and they keep making pretty much the same phone over and over again...N85? just a refurbished N95 lol and the 5800 and N97 are nokia's first touch screens, but how many have already been out on the market? not saying they aren't good phones but for a supposed biggest phone company you'd think that they would be the first in the market to try and release one. Even the 8MP camera, other's beat them to it, they were to busy just redesigning the same phones over and over again instead of trying to be original and really captivate the market, ericsson are already making a 12MP camera you would have thought that nokia would have jumped at the chance when the 8MP was released, why wouldn't you go "oh snap! why not go one better and make a phone with a 12MP camera in it?" instead they turned around and wondered what phone they could remake?
I think they should change their name to Mokia because that's all they are doing, making a mockery of themselves.....
