AnonD-83821, 24 Jun 2014just one statement from microsoft that the newly releasing ... moreLOL!
1st of all: Stop using piece of s**t Android phones with outdated OS versions! (buy a HTC/Samsung flagship or former flagship and see how good it feels!);
2nd: Yeah, going back from the failed-before-release Nokia X programm to WP8/8.1 is a great idea! NOT! I'm never going to buy another WP8 smartphone and it's all because of the crap apps they have and NO SUPPORT for the store, you get 90% copycat or fake apps and that's it!
Good choice, friend!

AnonD-275729, 24 Jun 2014Ah so because of "the necessary hardware upgrades"... moreIDK if monkeys are doing the works, but Sony seems to care about it's customers :)
And yeah, as an experienced Android user, it makes no sense why they cannot upgrade it to 4.3... maybe something that MS implemented poorly and cannot run under the old hardware?!

The Microsoft doesn't have a marketing strategy for X2. They want to force people buying it by eliminating previous X series. But they won't get anywhere near it. The little whatever customer who were loyal to Nokia would soon change factions if this goes on. They also say that there would be hardware limitations but actually its simply brute force. I would like point out the absence of equalizer in low end Lumia range phones in this context.

I CAN believe Microsoft is doing this. They want to recoup some of the money Nokia put into developing these phones before the trash the whole line and push everyone to WP Crap. Read the article.
They did this before and it has NOTHING to do with the hardware. It should be obvious to everyone that Microsoft wants to push everyone to WP. If this story, WP style tiles interface and removing all google play services doesn't convince you then all I can say is, hello MS-WP fanboy.

I won't call them obsolete, the Nokia X devices would still get updates. They're entry level devices anyway, more or less the beta run. And they're not that popular anyway. Get to work Microsoft!

Why would Nokia enter the cheap android market, when there are so many others to pick from? I thought they were going to be different and give support. Apparently not. Little reason to consider Nokia X/X2.

As an X user, I don't mind too much.
I can see why they would do it - both to try and have a selling point for the new X2 devices, and well - it saves them the effort to try and rework their software to devices without a 'home' button. (which seems to be part one of the big software features).

Microsoft has a terrible management team. They just started selling X,X+ and XL and then they announced a newer series. To make things worse, they claimed that current series will not getting any updates. What are they trying to do? Try to shoot themselves in their legs??? Try to kill the sales of X series??? They should just say updates are being considered.
