Xperia Z1 Compact is still the absolute King of Mini phones. Its a true topline speced phone in a smaller shell. S5 mini is just another S4 mini which already was a 2012 speced phone. just sugar coated with loads of bloatware

If we can lock folders/files in the phone with finger print sensor, as we do it in laptops, I wiil defenitely buy this phone. It is heard that bigger S5 is having this facility. Water resistance gives such a peace of mind while carrying a phone. I wish all phones shold be water resistant. IR blaster is going to be a tool against by brother who always snatch the TV remote from me. With wifi direct I will stream the photos and videos to the TV and going to pretend to be a geek. I wish if they removed that heart rate monitor and reduced some bucks..! I dont know how I am going to use it. Hey S5 users how u are using it? Self healing of illness is not recommented go to a doctor...

Then samsung, Htc and LG shouldn't name them like their flagships and then add that stupid mini moniker next to the flagship name when they put mediocre hardware inside.
They should rather name them samsung crap 5 mini, Htc crap 2 mini and LG crap 2 mini.

And still last years S4 Mini awaits kitkat update after actually confirmed reports on the update.... So much for mini phones from Samsung....
And considering the hardware(processor and RAM) which is actually worse than last year, this phone is just stupid. If it had been a 1.6 or higher clocked s400 chipset, would have made sense!

As you expect exactly the same but smaller and Samsung have not done this including premium specs in the S5 mini
The S5 mini is not a slouch and whatever the differences between them in benchmark won't matter that much in day to day the S5 mini will be a high end phone.
So if like me you don't like big phones you only get 8Mp, etc which i agree is NOT a mini but i thing Sammy is operating on the term "MODELLED" on the S5
You name Sony as the only one which is approx 3 months premature,
ATM your views imo may be endorsed by APPLE!
Wth all the leaks nothing has been said that the 5.5" IPhone6 will differ from the 4.7" so a smaller in size only phone

The S5 Mini will be a good phone for those that want a new Samsung, but with a smaller screen. Most customers out buying the S5 don't care about performance. They buy it cause of the brand, and the user friendly Touch Wiz.
For people wanting performance, the S5 Alpha is just around the corner
