AnonD-280126, 04 Jul 2014let's give each his right:
1- Blackberry: security+ prod... moreThe problem with Blackberry is that it offered video call secondary camera way too late February 2013 when everybody else especially Apple popularising Facetime
When it did it was too late and you have to see the leap from the BB9900 to the Z10 however brilliant was too late
Android and security is more optional and many just skip this until it is too late.
You can have a standalone Antitheft installed that will duplicate some of the knox features whilst offering others
Whilst not familiar with all the Knox features, if I marked my phone lost it stolen remotely, all that would be offered is a screen with my contact details, there would be no menu so the phone could not be used as a mp4 player or camera
That aside the security measures inbuilt in BB are top notch.
At the moment Windows imo (as I can't afford Apple) is the weakest os of the major players
Windows has sim lock and phonelock, so if used without a phonelock there is no simcard change alert
The are ZERO standalone antitheft app that can be installed.
lose your phone if setup all you have is the find my phone feature
All devices are covered by BB, Knox is Samsung, you can't install what you don't have
All he us saying is we've already done that maybe if he included Windows in the statement, Microsoft would have acted as nothing is coming from them except unprotected phones

AnonD-198581, 04 Jul 2014Yes, when it locks you in completely with no apps, no functions.I guess you know alot *cough* about BlackBerry.
They run all Android apps and their own. So in fact they have more apps than Android seeing they can run both. Maybe you should check your facts before saying something :)

AnonD-209094, 04 Jul 2014BB security is not true, anyone with hostile intents can br... moreBut you can kill the device using BlackBerry Protect.
Unlike Apple it has never been hacked and unlike Apple and Android you need to have the device to do harm. It never had malware, never been hacked. face it, when you want security you want BlackBerry. Heads of State, the DoD and several large multinationals (like the one I work for) jumped to BlackBerry. We dumped 500+ iPhones due to the doulCi hackers just in this office, thats not even wordlwide as ordered by our headoffice.

That's your point and I'm not convinced, I' will still continue to use my BlackBerry phone...and oh by the way, you should learn more about data privacy and how to secure your mobile device.

BB security is not true, anyone with hostile intents can bring a BB10 device to its knees if they know the BBM ID of that device, since BBM cannot be disabled and you cannot log out. In theory, if anyone with hostile intents got the BBM id or BB PIN of Angela Merkel or Obama they could potentially msgflood their phones to the knees from multiple accounts, rendering two of the worlds foremost leaders unable to communicate online, at once they had an active data connection the msgs would flood in and stall their phones. And what if someone exposed a security hole in BBM or BB PIN messages, it would be imposssible to plug it, theres no log out! Using BB is really taking a great security and privacy risk, maybe the biggest known potential risk in the history of smartphone security.
So why activate BBM in the first place some may ask? Well, BB isnt giving you a choice, you get automatically logged in and can never log out again as long as your BB user account is enabled on that phone. No uninstall, no logout, no disable, no option to go invisible, its forced and with NO user control at all.
I advice everyone to avoid BB like the plague until they plug the security and privacy hole they call BBM, even controlfreak Apple let users EASILY disable iMessage and FaceTime but BB doesnt even let you log out or go invisible, i get sick when i hear a company like that talk about security. I been using BB10 since March this year but the privacy violation in BBM is forcing me to abandon ship.
Funny thing that BB must be doing so great that they can afford to shaft their already very few buyers this way.

Angry Mobile Nerd, 04 Jul 2014"Android" and "security" shouldn't be a... moreAndroid OS itself is very secure. It's the users who don't understand what is "safe behaviour", and there is no excuse as it is very simple to engage in these "safe behaviours" to keep off malwares.
Let's look at the state of BB's financial position then worry about what the CEO is saying about their competition.

Tests, 04 Jul 2014Most of the mobile phone users are not educated in the secu... moreI agree that most users are not concerned at all for security when it's about their smartphones. At the other hand, these kind of features should be transparent and don't bother constantly the user asking complex parameterization settings. BB platforms has serious flaws in usability, productivity, offered apps and features. The market just waits the buyout and transformation to software platform firm.
