AnonD-59657, 12 Jul 2014iPhone 6 still come with slower CPU, only Dual-core 2GHz?? ... moreClockspeed and cores are only part of the story..

Need to see caches (A7 have L1 to L3 caches.. most androids i bet all have only up to L2).. after caches .. then you rely on RAM.. slower.. and then storage .. snail speed.

Then u see the making process. smaller means u can squeeze more transistor inside.. better.

Then when the chip is done.. u rate it based on the applications people like to run.

Lol, I read most comments are just about Android vs iPhone :D

Why no one bring up WP into table? It's more "optimized" than Android yet still works on broad range of device, unlike iOS which only works on "limited" range of device (aka apple).

As for Prescott vs A64, the numbers are overwhelming, even the super expensive FX-57 was no match, and theres even a Dothan there.

I have experience with overclocking on AXP and P4 and no doubt the Northwood was greatness, AXP was crap for enthusiasts, i just used it because it was so cheap actually, the mainboards for Pentium 4 at the time had outrageous prices, making the AXP a lot cheaper, the money saved could be spent for better graphics, which benefited more in many cases.

I dont care how many PCs you built, i have merits in international OC and has been on top10 lists on several Boinc projects, overclocked with all kind of hardware ranging from AXP to i7. Building a PC, wtf is that, are you a worker in a chinese factory??? lOl, amateurs feeling pro...

"In any case, one thing is visible: in the majority of performance tests, the new Pentium 4/2200 is ahead. After all, the top AMD processor has to make do with 1666 MHz, while its archenemy steps in with 2200 MHz. A closer look at the comprehensive benchmarks reveals that in Office performance as well as Linux Kernel compiling, the Athlon XP still takes the lead, despite its 32% clock speed disadvantage!"

          Source: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pentium-4,407-20.html

And further iterations of the pentium 4 upto an unoverclockable 3ghz heat monster weren't any better.

I've been building computers since 486's, I know my shit. Nice try.

P4 vs Athlon XP was a one man show, P4 (Northwood) was much better, but also more expensive (i myself stayed with Athlon XP at the time though). The real battle came with P4 Prescott vs Athlon 64 which were much closer in price, here A64 was the more powerful in SINGLETHREADED applications, while the hyperthreading on Prescott made them superior in multitasking, games and everything would run much more lag free on P4. Yes, A64 had some advantages but was never a clear winner, personally i found the framerate drops on A64 too annoying and went for Prescott in the end (better to have fairly stable 30fps than constantly varying between 15 and 40), and didnt lose any performance due to watercooling and Intels superior overclockability. AMDs were never good overclockers, they were near their maximum out-of-the-box, no OC headroom and then the CnC tech that never worked stable.

AnonD-27765, 12 Jul 2014http://blog.gsmarena.com/iphone-owners-more-intelligent-tha... moreFor the record, there's a source link below the GSMArena scoop which leads to the original news story. Below the picture, it states, "Although the fastest test of all was completed by a Samsung owner, at just 47 seconds."

With Intel pushing innefficient high GHZ watt guzzling overheating monsters and athlon going with the high instructions per cycle efficient and lower watted cpus.

Indeed, I'd like to see such an A8 or A7 power an android device.

But imho, Apple could go tricore right now, wouldn't hurt and would totally put the smackdown on ARM's offerings.

Unfortunately BB users were excluded from that survey, i think they could have scored higher. WP users were omitted since most of them are protecting their virginity and are more likely to own a Wii and think Mario Kart is a great game.

Still, judging from these pages its obvious that lots of Android users arent very smart, but then we have to subtract all the kids on a $100 Android phone, and a few who clearly arent 100% in the top floor, and eventually we should see things evening out.

Another problem is of course that lots of iPhone users have left this site since it was "invaded" by budget Android buyers from India and its neighbors, there are limits how much news about Gionee and Micromax people can take, i myself has stayed away from this pages for long periods due to the shift to uninteresting stuff. Android Authority has solved the wave of Indian users with their differing interests and needs in a different way, by making a weekly India Only article.

If we look at iPhone marketshare globally vs share of iPhone users here we will see that this place resembles India/Persia area and eastern Europe much more than it represents the world average. How many active iPhone users are on gsmarena? Almost none compared to 2 years ago.

A7 performs pretty much the same as snapdragon s800 + adreno 330, meanwhile is a bit down (4-5fps) than the s801.

[deleted post]Most studies like this are BS and target audences are selected to suit the desired outcome.

If you want a study to show the rich are getting richer you survey the poorer suburbs, if you want to show negativity towards border security and illegsl immigrants you survey suburbs with larger ethnuc populations.

Its a bit like how people source their Apple is the best technology from sites like Appleinsider and Mac Romours.

I work as a tech professional and I am forced to use a iphone. Not because if the performance or the looks. Most people hate them.
We are made to use them due to their closed walled garden, the fact they are loaded with siftware to track staff location, every website they acess, every text they send, how much data is used, and what apps are intalled, its nothing to do with performance but more about big brother!
As for looks we are forced to wear a case and more of the 60yr old management team ego to whip out their iphone like they are hip and up on innivation.
