Joey, 12 Jul 2014I've worked in IT for 20 years, most tech professionals use... moreWow! You can personally vouch for "most" tech professionals? You do know that number is in the millions, right?

Okay then, what were they using pre-iPhone? Better yet, what were you using in 1994? Exactly. Not an iPhone.

BTW, your claim is a lie.

But for a a cpu hungry none graphics app. Which is almost all apps but games. I'd still say the iPhone would outperform the android flagships. "

So wrong, iPhone outperform every android device in GPU hungry games very easily.

Android devices already cant handle the current high graphics games when Apple iOS devices runs them perfectly smooth. Android devices already reached their limit, so far Apple hasnt seen it.

End of this month is going to come Modern Combat 5, lets see how android devices going to handle that, its going to have best graphics seen in mobile game ever.

Yep. Samsung has done a great job at manufacturing the A4, A5, A7, and now the A8 SoC for Apple. Currently, while working in conjunction with Apple's new fab partner, TSMC, Samsung will be relied upon to produce 30 to 40 percent of the A8 chip.

However, there are concerns over TSMC's ability to meet Apple's demand, which is most likely true. When this happens, just hope Samsung isn't preoccupied with manufacturing the beastly 5433 to finish the job and save the day.

The last thing Apple needs is to delay its September release, or not have ample stock for weeks. The 805/420 & 5433/T760 SoC's, at much higher resolutions, are already going to dominate the A8 in all, but maybe a few scenarios.

But for a a cpu hungry none graphics app. Which is almost all apps but games. I'd still say the iPhone would outperform the android flagships. The screen has nothing to do with performance here. And you never took in consideration the os optimization. That's why the iPhone still might trump android flag ships even with a higher resolution

The CPU tests points to hardware having equivalent performance to 8 YEARS OLD desktop cpus. ( sorry, forgot the link for the source, but you can research it yourself if you're any serious about this )

And GPU tests are even worse at 9 YEARS OLD ( check out GFXbench 2.7 results page, the top dogs are slighlty below ATI xt1800's level of performance ).

Even worse, all of this runs on overly high resolutions.

A8 is going to be a beast of a chip, even the A7 is currently not fully utilised by most software, as it is ahead of its time, a true 'desktop' class chip:

                        http://www.macrumors.com/2014/03/31/apple-a7-desktop-class/

The rest of the industry can only wait and see what Apple announces. I bet this time Qualcomm won't be too quick to make comments:

I think we have already had our fill as Apple at most add 3 or 4 features that are NOT on a previous iPhone so let's list them

                          1 Bigger display
                          2 - 3 Sapphire coating SAPPHIRE COATING
                          4 Battery increase from 1560 to 1850
                          5 Improved Camera
                          6 Improved A8
The IP4S came in @ Dual Core 1GHZ 512Mb Ram and both the IP5 and IP5S Dual Core 1.3GHz 1Gb Ram

I expect an increase but this on top of everything else also implies an increase in Ram

Also justsayinbro has pointed out PPI need to be maintained

I think at best an increase to 1.5GHz Dual Core

Finally bearing in mind the IP5S is lighter than the IP5, I would expect Apple to be looking at no more than 140g handset for the 4.7" IP6

From an article posted on Engadget today, they're reporting that sapphire is heavier than Gorilla Glass. They go on to say that the material is also less transparent than glass, meaning it would be more difficult to see the screen. Manufacturers can add a special coating to increase transparency, but it still wouldn't be as good as glass.

Taking into consideration the fact that Iphone 6 has higher pixel density than Iphone 5s, also that the new IOs 8 brings new features that will probably increase CPU usage, I personally don't think Iphone 6 with dual core 2Ghz will be any faster than the Iphone 5s. Still Apple should work on increasing RAM and making multitasking possible. :P
