What I don't understand about people complaining about iOS limitations and so on and so forth is that they can't understand that iOS lovers don't need widgets, those extra RAM and complicated things that I find on Android OS. There's "free will" and Apple isn't brainwashing us for using iOS.

AnonD-177123, 11 Jul 2014and still 1gb ramIf they involve another 1GB RAM bank (making it 2GB) plus more pixels to push it will increase battery draw, "however" as with the new Haswell chips if the A8 uses reduced lithography this may compensate..The weight would increase also but this may be offset by sapphire glass weighing less and A8 chip been smaller lighter..I often think like I was when I was a kid and more interested in whats inside these devices than what they actually do.

If I was brainy enough I would love to know why Symbian in its third edition ie N80,N86 models could not have carried on by increasing C-Disk space,RAM and CPU/GPU power.

AnonD-248425, 11 Jul 2014do you happen to know anything about cpu architecture..ipho... moreWith the iPhone 5s @ 640 x 1136 pixels, 4.0 inches (~326 ppi pixel density), there's no surprise. It's much easier to beat flagship Android devices when the 5s has a significantly lower screen resolution, smaller display, and far less pixels to push.

I'd like to see the 5s try that with its current SoC @:
          1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.1 inches (~432 ppi pixel density)
          1440 x 2560 pixels, 5.5 inches (~534 ppi pixel density)
          1440 x 2560 pixels, 5.1 inches (~576 ppi pixel density)

Results would be a lot different. Don't you think?

Even the iPhone 6 is playing it safe, rumored @ 960 x 1704 pixels, 4.70 inches / 5.5 inches (~416 / ~355 ppi pixel density). This is not even on par with high-end FHD devices.

If you or anyone else feels differently, please explain.

iOS is very well optimized, so it indeed doesn't need a high frequency CPU, correct, even as a huge hater of the ecosystem I can say that.

But who is making the CPU again? Lol.

Guys before anyone starts trolling here is a few facts:

First this is being written on an HTC one I own a WP 8.1 device ((L630 single SIM)) and I like iPhones so I am not cheering for any company for any reason.

An iPhone 4S with a 1GHz dual core CPU ((actuall clock speed between 800-1000)) 512MB of RAM and a mediocre GPU ((relatively speaking)) on IOS 7 can match the performance of a mid to upper midrange androids.

So if this news is true ((talking about the new A8 here)) then the next iPhone will be a monster.
