It's a term used for 3G and 3G+ (3G 900Mhz) networks.

Let me clear one thing,once and for all.WCDMA IS NOTHING BUT 3G GSM.So guys,dont ask about it every now and then.Also,the pronunciation of 'Xiaomi' is 'Shao-mee'.
They price their phone almost at the cost hardware alone.And they make profits because they sell any phone for no less than 18 months.And Xiaomi gets their phones manufactured by Foxconn.

Xiaomi wants to know the strategy by selling their some devices only at first in india not a flagship with heavy price.

Granted MIUI is heavier than Vanilla Android but its not going to be so heavy that its going to be equally fast to Moto G, even if its not optimized. MIUI has been around for sometime & Xiaomi is not just another Chinese brand, so I am pretty sure there is no point in comparing this with Moto G.

Or do you think the Mi4 will also launch in India on July 22? ha! Nope! Send all the Mi3's to India! -- We'll take the Mi4's!
I could be wrong. But if that's not the case, why bother to launch the Mi3 in a market only to immediately replace it with another model on the same day? Doesn't make sense unless they're not planning to launch the Mi4 in India (at least, initially, maybe they'll launch it say...next year).
The only other reasonable strategy would be if the Mi4 will be launching at a significantly higher price point as not to cannibalize the just-released Mi3 (see middle paragraph).

Man all these mobiles are killers.. INDIAN BORN manufacturers have to run for their lives now. Ohh this is gonna change our view towards silly Indian manufacturers.

My only question is and it can be a deal breaker, Whether Indian version supports GSM 3G (I use Reliance 3G GSM)as the specs on mi india site and the exclusive online retailer flipkart state that it packs 3G WCDMA (not GSM) and 2G GSM. Now if thats the case most of the buyers will be limited to 2G only as 3G WCDMA aka EVDO/EVDO+ in India doesnt come with SIMs. Comes locked with simless CDMA phones.
