Anonymous, 29 May 2009So what has your city's population got to do with the World... moreseems like somebody still can't get the math right...(well, what else I can expect those from America in terms of math?)

I'm referring to no phone network can handle 7 million phone calls at the same time "within a range of 40 sq mi (abt the size of HK), and somebody keeps saying their almighty AT&T network can handle 7 million phone calls anytime, which I do agree, but most likely NOT within 40 sq mi radius.

So the HK 3G network can't accomodate the internet usage of iphone users? Guess you never run a business, particularly a phone company.

If you know you're the only official carrier of iphone, which you know many people are waiting to get one, why offer unlimited data plan (which costs about US$50...widely available through OTHER network providers / same provider without iphone) when one can simply charge more to the user?

All the car tunnels and cubway can receive 3G signals in HK, does that happen in US? Let me know. (I've been to some suburban areas in the middle states where there isn't any 2G signal...)

So the Chinese from Taiwan who went to Philippines never been to US? Or did that person get in contact with anyone recently from US?

I'm not aware of such cases in Taiwan or HK so far...maybe with your almighty knowledge, u can fill me in.

Anonymous, 25 May 2009You slashed on the city where I live...which has population... moreSo what has your city's population got to do with the World Trade Center? I never said that your city is 3rd world, I only commented on your poor 3G coverage that could not accommodate the iphone 3G's data plan that would let you have internet access any time which is the reason why you only depend on radio for news and traffic.

Again, it doesn't make sense for me to waste my time asking anyone on how many calls their network can handle. I make and receive calls every day and I'm doing just fine and that's all that matters. There is no NEED for me to go out of my way to find out just for argument's sake. So stop that 7 million calls already, because you do not have any proof either that AT&T cannot accommodate 7 million calls at the same time, can you?

Who cares about China's foreign reserves here? That is not the argument. It's the fact that you have stated that China, even with its large foreign reserves, has poor 3G accommodations that cannot provide iphone users a full internet plan, and that is the reason why you need radio all the time, lol.

Well I still like Chinese people, and I will not stop liking Chinese people just because of defective ones like you who depends getting news and traffic through radio, lol. And oh, there's news in the Philippines that a Chinese woman with swine flu infected several people on the plane from Taipei, so before you make comments on Americans traveling sick, you may want to check on your people as well.

Anonymous, 22 May 2009What has the World Trade got to do with this? First of all... moreYou slashed on the city where I live...which has population of 7 million people, and you said my city is 3rd world because it can't accomodate 7 million calls AT THE SAME TIME.

Suggest you go to your SBC or whatever company and ask them to see if they've any network WITHIN 40 sq miles that handles 7 million phone calls AT THE SAME TIME.

If you want to take the whole country, China (who now owns more foreign reserve and largest share of US Gov. Bonds) handles way more than 7 million phone calls at the same time.

Though are we even talking with apples to apples? Any place with an area of 40sq miles CAN'T handle 7 million phone calls at the same time.

And yes, where I live we've WORLD NEWS and phone calls in and out of NY was shutdown during 911.

Used to like Americans, but people like u (who thinks only Americans should own hence comment on iphone)...and those who are sick and still get on the airplanes, make me sick....

First of all, I don't think there was 7 million people in those buildings. 2nd, you said that you weren't even there so you wouldn't know. So why ask? I don't know either because I didn't call anyone in New York when that happened? You are not making sense in your arguments.

All phone company's sell phones to everyone because it can accommodate everyone's calls. As for everyone making calls at the same time. I'm sure that's happening because a lot of people use their cell phones every day.

Anonymous, 18 May 2009"how to fit all features in a small device that is the conc... moreAs the years advance, so does technology. Hard drives are getting smaller in size but bigger in memory. It's even going to get more exciting now that nano technology shows so much great potential. So yes, the iphone may not fit all of our desired features in a small case, but eventually it will find a way with the use of more modern technology. But for now, they have to prioritize.

Unlike you, I am not confused at all. Everything is clear to me that the iphone is the best device for me and my needs. Of course it would've been better it had a better camera, and if it would have this and that. But I have to be reasonable. The iphone already does so many things that requires a lot of battery power and software demands. Stretching it more would compromise performance, and that is exactly what the other phone manufacturers are doing. Hence, you experience so much lag in performance, and consisted erratic behavior of the device.

Again you are exaggerating. No one is being hostile here, lol. But it seems to me that you have a problem with American products. Funny you dislike Americans and yet you live here.

Anonymous, 18 May 2009You don't seem to understand how different people living at... moreOf course I know that living conditions are different in every country. You are the one who needs to learn respect, not I.

Let me educate you. FM is not the authority on road and traffic conditions or status. It is the Highway Patrol. FM gets their info from the Highway Patrol. Highway Patrol sends traffic info to their website, Radio/TV, and Sig Alert boards on the freeway. Does FM tell you how long it's going to take you to get to the airport from where you're at on the freeway? Sig Alert boards do. If there's an accident on the freeway that would dramatically delay traffic, Sig Alerts are being posted on the Sig Alert Boards on the freeway. Even child abductions are being posted on the Sig Alert Boards. So why the heck would I even bother with FM for traffic and road conditions? LOL. I can also use my iphone to access the Highway Patrol website, or I can simply turn on the radio on my car if I chose to. I'm sure you're going to say, "but there's no highway patrol and Sig Alerts in HK". Well that is unfortunate, but the US will not stop improving public awareness sources just because HK wants to stick to FM and depend on commuters to report traffic conditions.

In 1985, cellphones were not mass produced yet. That is why I said your 1985 incident is irrelevant. FM stations in the US is mainly for music, but believe me, if there is anything crucial for the public to know, FM stations would interupt their program and sound that emergency alarm and announce what's going on. So please stop exaggerating like every day is the end of the world.

As far as other countries relying on radio. Good luck to them =) You are not the only Asian living in the US. A lot of radio talk shows are being streamed online, so don't exaggerate and make it seem like there is no way for you to access those radio talk shows from HK.

Why would school close in Sacramento or Sanfo if there is not reason for them to close? LOL. Just because there is a typhoon in HK, does that mean that schools in Sacramento should close as well? LOL. And no, I don't get my facts from movies or TV shows like you do, LOL. If medical students follow protocols taken by TV shows like ER, there would be a lot of dead patients out there, LOL. Die Hard is unlikely to happen in real life, so get real.

Guess what? I traded in my Lexus for a Bimmer. My Lexus had a back up camera, power ventilated seats, and a better navigation system. So why did I give up all of those nice features for a Bimmer? Because the Bimmer gives me a better driving experience. I'm not saying that those features are useless, but there are other things that matters more to other people than a back up camera and power seats =)

you are niave, 17 May 2009The name says it all. This statement you made You are a... moreOf course Apple cares about the quality of their products. Their survival depends on it. And that would include the design of their products and their sizes. So yes, Apple cares about the iphone's slim design. It is a given that a business is there to make a profit. But in order to make a profit, your product needs to sell. So again, you should care about your product's design. As I have said, and as Apple has said in one of their press cons, they do have those features like copy and paste on their list, but it's not at the top priority and still needed more testing for it to work better than other phones. True enough, the execution of cut, copy and paste on the iphone is way better than any phone out there. And to back my claim, they are giving those as FREE updates for ALL iphones. So if Apple is just all about making money and not caring about their products, why would they even offer those features for free? ALL firmware updates (software) are free for all iphones, so I don't know what you are talking about Apple soaking up the cash. You need to respect other people's choices. If you choose Android over Mac OSX, then good for you. But don't call us simpletons just because we found a product that works better for our needs. Just shows how dumb you are by not respecting other people's choices =)
