        They make decent products yes (I own an LG TV) But in the mobile space, they are playing catch up in many areas and pulling of cheap tricks to cover that fact.

        Again this is just my opinion based on my experience of LG smartphones.

                    I stand by my original point LG (at least in the mobile market) are making their name by pulling off silly firsts (and not doing them very well) and these tricks won't be as well received should they find themselves on top.

                        meaning it was already existing even before June.
                        although the exact model unit was not sold here in korea
                        before you got in your hand we had already using it here in Korea.

                          AnonD-77171, 24 Jul 2014im about to start reading your long post but when i saw the... moreEr...I did do my research and it suggested that the HTC One X was first as it was released in May 2012, the 4X HD was released in June. See the logic I used there: may coming before June etc.....

                          it's a redundant point anyway as they both devices used Tegra 3 chips, so you could argue that Nvidia were the 'innovators' here, either LG or HTC were just the first to buy a batch of those chips and place them in a smartphone.

                              lg is now becoming popular and people do realize lg is good.
                              g3 is one of the best smartphone today, if not the best

                              g3's qhd display is still great
                              the sharpest it does really great in color reproductions.
                              yes it might not be the brightest but it is the lg engineers who decided that for the sake of battery and many more to be considered.
                              all in all it was a great job!

                                lg is very well known for most important stuffs on a smartphone.

A correction is in order though for one of them: I believe it was the the HTC One X that was the first quadcore smartphone to market (though they were announced at pretty much the same time)

                                    I find the fact that the G3 (a device that cannot run it's own display at full brightness without overheating) is in the running for best 2014 smartphone is laughable. But then if people want to burn their fingers off for the sake of an extra 100 ppi, then who am I to argue. Again if Samsung or Apple had released a device with such a flaw then people would have (rightly) been all over them.

                                    As to your other points, they are just industry progression not true innovation. LG has not changed the course of the market in any way, they have just been the first to follow the natural progressive curves in some area's.

                                    This is what LG really do, race to be first, not develop to be best:

                                    The 2X was not the best dual core device (if fact it was awful)

                                    The 4X HD was not the best quadcore device.

                                    The Optimus 3d was pretty much the only 3d device because the other OEM's had the good sense to stay away (HTC being the exception with the Evo 3D, but they learned their lesson)

                                    The G Flex is a concept even LG themselves do not appear to be following up (because let's be honest it hasn't really set the market ablaze with sales)

                                    And finally the G3, premature is the word for this one, so obsessed were LG to be 'first' with QHD that they didn't bother to do any calibration on the screen (frequent expert test have proven that resolution aside, the screen is mediocre - average at best) or wait for the necessary SoC to power it, thus causing the previously mentioned over heating issues and handicapping both battery life and performance.

                                    None of this points to a company fit to lead the market IMAO.

                                      there is much more like LTE patent leadership, OIS smalles module, etc but I think this list is enough to clarify that there is no so innovative as LG in the recent years.

The QHD brings out the real or true live images or picture unlike the other that gives exagerrated image. Have tried the sample and its really nice!
