LG electronics sells 14.5 million smartphones in Q2

The company had a strong second quarter, with an increase of 26.5 percent growth over last year.

As a Samsung fan since Galaxy S i9000 phone, i'm really disappointed in thei latest top device - S5. The only thing holding me back from buying G3 right now is that i'm so used to AMOLED display i don't think i can easily get used to the LCD screen. Anyway good job LG. Keep up the good work, we all would like to see even more competition in the top mobile segment.

    I have yet to see any real innovation from LG, they are basically just playing the same specs and features game that all the rest are playing, but where as LG's features are called innovations, Samsung's are labelled as 'gimmicks'

    Watch how quickly this changes if LG should find themselves on top of the hill.

      Not surprising considering the excellent build quality of its smartphones especially its flagships like the G3, G2 and G Pad 8.3 unlike poorly built Samsungs! The excellent pricing is also cool and affordable unlike Samsung! Go LG with your excellent build quality even if they are plastoc phones, they are still well-built!

That is very telling.

                  LG G3 really made a dent in SGS5 sales I think.
