Google CAN NOT FORBID ANYONE to use Android and even their services if they obey the rules. Even to any garage china producer.
Besides I don't say right now Samsung is direct danger for US total dominance. But getting bigger and bigger Samsung scare the sh... out of the Big Brothers. That's why they act panically , to avoid it. If they couldn't do what they with Nokia , the try with every possible dirty tricks to weaken Samsung or make bad name of them.
Because more and more ppl DON'T CARE if it's Android or not- they know Samsung.
And now when Samsung go for new OS(this is not same Samsung from Bada time, now) and their own app-store, Big Brothers strengthen the attacks even more.
The truth is that the whole World now let the Big Brothers (so to CIA, NSA, FBI) to use the back doors WITH NO CONTROL, not only for terrorists or criminals , but for normal ppl data . In wrong hands this could be used for blackmail or political influence. Right.
If come new non-US player there, they lose the total control, and that made them desperate.
Even this article DON'T say the truth- what is going on between MS and Samsung. But just BASHING manipulative propaganda.

What a stupid comment about US companies... If they really want to stop Samsung from world dominance, they would just ask Google to not letting them use Android...
What is Samsung without Android? Or Google services? Samsung has no OS (not counting not yet finished Tizen) has no cloud services, no map services, no mail cervices, no music, no Youtube. They are nothing. Just another hardware company, who delivers screens, chipsets and nothing more. (not discussing Samsungs superiority in hardware field over others - personally prefer Sony)

Not very true. Many real tech companies outside US contributed much there, too. Nokia, Simens, Ericsson, .....even Samsung. But not this is my point.
Can you realise that the whole World is under US control? MS, Google(android) Apple (iOS) , Facebook ...with their "back doors" open for US agencies. You think they don't love that??? LOL Do you think they will agree to lose that control, and will not do even more to cover more population under total control?Wow.
Many ppl from US , EU and so...will prefer to give "backdoors" to Samsung, than to US. And that ppl are not criminal or terrorists. That's why the Big Brothers are mad and will try to take over Samsung , like they did with Nokia. I hope they will not succeed. Of course even if US always could ask Samsung to help catching terrorists or criminals, but they couldn't dig in everybody's life without control as they did now.
I don't say that Samsung are perfect company. No!!!! But they are the only possible new player. That's why is this organized attack against Samsung.
Samsung is not only losing cases. Many pay to Samsung but you don't know. But bashing Samsung you will see all over the US media propaganda that have hands EVERYWHERE.

Samsung is not losing in US only they r losing in other countries also. because samsung is going unfair to make quick money.
U know, most of the technologies that these companies are using developed in MIT & other universities & labs in US. Samsung has money so they can buy those technologies, hire engineers. Everything they use are from US, technologies, OS. Without those technologies today's samsung would not be possible.
People are bashing samsung. And what are u doing? Are not u bashing US (& government)? There are thousands of big companies in the US. Why would they fear a single samsung? & finally what did u say? ppl recognise Samsung more than Android (uneducated ppl may not recognise android)? jokes of the day....

Samsung had a contract with Microsoft in 2011, years before Microsoft acquired Nokia. How did you arrive at your conclusion??

This is ABOUT NOKIA . Samsung had deal with Nokia , and kept it. It was cross licencing. Nokia and Samsung use their patents each other. FOR FREE. But now MS bought Nokia , and want the money of the Nokia patents. So MS bought Nokia with the patents, but don't wanna keep Nokia's deals.
Samsung is not agree with that, and have some point. But who is right will say the court.
The US propaganda don't miss to attack Samsung though.
They are scared of Samsung not to break US total dominance over the World,(MS, Google, Apple and Face book with their "back doors" to CIA, NSA, FBI...) and use all the dirty methods to destroy Samsung's image.

EU was financially unstable so they forced them to sell all their assets and Nokia being the biggest one was practically given to the usa by Microsoft and Stephen Elop the mole
