Always wanted an android version of 8X. Good looking smooth phone. Always was but don't want windows due to so many tiles and no choice of message keypad - all windows prevents that..HTC would have sold quite a few.

Just like the Nexus for Android. Other brands will only results in fragmentation. I believe M8 will be HTC last attempt on Windows Phone. Don't fall into their trap.

HTC 8S with 4GB storage can run WP8.1 but not WP8.1 GDR1. I doubt it's hardware compatibility but more of HTC is not willing to update the firmware on it to support WP8.1 GDR1.

AnonD-134749, 06 Aug 2014So how many person has 8s might be 1 or 2There are some, i have 8s because it was the only affordable option at the time.
8s is, to me, superior to lumia 520.
One thing is sure: i will never bye another htc phone.

I feel really disapointed, and i wish ms will ban htc for releasing another wp phone, because wp8.1 have 36 months support promised to customers and now fanboys have ammunition against ms.

Even if you are on Developer Preview, you can't as of yet update HTCs 8X and 8S to GDR1. After 8.1, there are 2 updates, one is bug fixes and the other is the actual GDR1. If you try updating now you'll only get the bug fixes update. (it actually does wonders to smoothness, fluidity and stability).

But so far, GDR1 is not accessible to 8X and 8S users.
