A new company doesn't have all the factories and stuff to mass manufacturer a new phone for the over million customers it attracted. Especially when they only planned to sell 50000 phones.

Angry naked men force naked women out of "get a free phone for a selfie" contest? Wow!
Seriously, I believe this situation is weird. Both the contest (with a pretty standard limitation, by the way, its just weird they want to give their phone to ladies - its rather large for a phone) and the reaction of the public (if you read comments, you'll notice much weirder reactions on the internet).
Now they should (IMO) check out Samsung with Alpha and do a similar thing - a smaller phone one can comfortably hold in their hand. After buying LG G2 I realized I want a smaller phone.

Just mass manufacture the phones and SELL THEM!!
The invite system is a stupid move for a new company! I bet they invite people from China only. It hurts their image and could result in a loss of interest in the phone!
I agree with the contest but was confused with the nudity issue.

AnonD-44928, 13 Aug 2014Well... the contest is sexist, because it is only aimed at ... moreSexism is expressed in a number of ways through prejudice and discrimination.
A competition specifically for women only is not necessarily discrimination against men. It's about the intent in my opinion. It's a similar concept to ladies nights, where ladies get free drinks on a specific night of the month or week. Is it discrimination? No, not strictly speaking.
"Ladies first" implies courtesy. "Ladies only" does not.
If all competitions were held only for ladies, then OPO would be discriminating.
If the competition was for ladies of a specific ethnicity, then OPO would be discriminating against race.

It's not implying anything, the Internet is just full of Tumblr morons. It's a fact that a lot of women post nude pictures, it does NOT imply that ALL women do. If you're not one of the women who do, then simply shut the **** up! It's not talking about you, it's talking about those 'ladies' who DO post such pictures.

We as a society have become a little too sensitive, IMHO. As I read it, it didn't really offend me. Of course, you can read anything into everything and make a mountain out of a mole hill.
People, stop challenging things simply because you CAN. There's a time and place for everything. You've ruined the competition for the ones that really wanted to participate.

Having a rule doesnt mean everyone would break it, in fact, some people outraged attitude even suggest they wanted that rule to not exist with the obvious outcome of allowing nudity in the contest and someone surely would take advantage of that fact.
Yeh i know im a douche by considering consequences resulting from half assed trendy opinions.
Even this comment section itself have rules like:
- "English only"
- "Please no foul language, be polite and use common sense"
But i guess Feminism is a trend and Ethnocentrism it is not. Therefore my outraged opinion is considered irrelevant.
Even by me, because i dont follow trends, mainly common sense and logic. f** me, right?

WOW, stupidity at it's finest. These women today are such drama queens, this whole feminism BS is cancer to our society as demonstrated by this, they get the privilege of being the only ones to be able to get a phone and make this an issue of catastrophic proportions where there isn't an issue there. Tell men there shall be no nudity and no one bats an eye, tell women no nudity and hell breaks loose.

Its not a sexist statement. Asking women to refrain from nudity while sending selfies is actually a good thing. Its no secret that a lot of women have grown wild on recent times and so many have completely lost it. This is just a polite way of avoiding sexual immorality in their campaign. I give them a thumbs up.

You're comment is a dumb reply. First off as far as what this article shows they are just sending in selfies so what the general people think of pretty boys or girls has nothing to do with it.
And even as a guy I know that many woman like pretty boys and there are plenty of men and woman that like both.
Nor does JB stand as the first or main idea of prey guys.
lastly you just described what the confirmed general sheep think. Not everyone.

We already know lots of girls would do a nude selfie fore a brand new phone, and some would do more. One of my female friends couldnt afford to buy my old cheap Nokia N-series, that wasnt even working 100% (lets face it, no old N-series or old Nokia in general work 100%) and she asked to pay by sleeping with me, then what would she do for a brand new high end smartphone? Thats in no way a unique story.

So the rules is No Nudity, what the problem then? Theres lots of nude selfies around the web, we know that lots of ladies dont mind making nude selfies, its a valid point to mention it to keep it a clean competition.
