Andrew, 02 Jun 2009I'm wondering, which Samsung or LG or whatever else phones ... moresir,...i too a nokia fan...but lookwise LG..is getting ahead...
i had almost fallen for lg km 900 due to its cool, captivating looks..
but inside nokia still rules...i just have to reject due to bad looks of 5800.Nokia should urgently address the look problem...as LG is moving very fast...if the continue to make good looking phone with solid inside ...i fear nokia may go PHILIPS way in electronics.

Nokia is very slow in making new improved phones...i m a nokia phone due to build ,software quality as well as good reception...anddurability.BUT at times even the best models have big flaws which prevnts us fm buying. TAKE nokia 5800...most is right BUT
camera is poor, look and make is cheap and not attractive.NOKIA should take cue from LG, samsung and even from its own phone-6300,n79.Since most like candibar due to durability and convenience...we are eagerly waiting for improved touchscreen maybe 5900 or 5830...with 5mp fine cam, metal body...which will be the best seller if kept in mid price range.IS NOKIA LISTENING.

If the emailing client was actually as good as a Blackberry then I would buy it.
But as it stands it is not up to standard as a business tool regardless of its specs.
Email is just far too important for me where it has to be reliable.
This is why Blackberry is selling like hot cakes where I am in SE Asia.
              IT works.

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2009I disagree. The Omnia HD has the best release of Symbian I ... moreI don't know your taste. I can say it just from my experience - Samsung UI is so weird, so uncomfortable - it's not for normal people. If you have used a Nokia, then you understand what is comfort and a logic menu!

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2009oh..one more thing... we are just waising the letters on... moreWhy should they change anything if all is perfect - you like it, or hate it.
Interesting why Nokia is biggest manufacturer and controls 37% of all mobile market? Because they know what consumer like. Nokia wont be number 1 if they won't listen to consumer willing.
PS Don't forget few things before making some comments. Nokia (or any other manufacturer) will never make any competitors to any of their phone. They always will take in mind consumer willing, but not the willing of just a few consumers. What is more important - to satisfy a 100 consumers or a 10,000 consumers? If your thoughts are not the same as most of consumers, don't get mad on Nokia and don't blame good phone just because, they didn't take your ideas. Be realistic - this is business!

Andrew, 02 Jun 2009For those, who say N97 is garbage. You all are wrong. Noki... moreI disagree. The Omnia HD has the best release of Symbian I have ever seen. I completely dispise all Nokia releases of Symbian because they are ugly, hard to use and unstable. SE have done a magnificent job with their version of Symbian on Idou.
I bet the N97 will be another Nokia Symbian release full of bugs and problems, just like the N95, N96 and 5800.

Not even on the market but already boring. One week after launch it will be forgotten. Really wonder what all the hundreds of Nokia engineers are doing, are they all on holidays ???
Moto dead, SE dying, Nokia soon dead, Samsung alive and kicking, LG coming to life...mobile phone is tough market, go ahead or die.

Nokia makes best phones. You say Omnia HD is better - no way - it just has better camera - that's all. It runs S60v5 - but it wont be as good as N97 has! LG has their S Class 3D interface - bit it's just a fake illusion - static images nothing impressive. Samsung TouchWiz - what is this? That huge icons on that small screens - no way. iPhone - :D :D :D Bling-bling thingy - it's an object with touch screen - and it's boring and uncomfortable. SE - out of competition - they all do late and bad copies of successful phones.
                              No competitors for this phone!

Samsung i8910 is a lot better than this, and best of all it runs the same S60 5th edition!!!

Just wish Samsung would release the i8910 with a QWERTY keyboard like the N97, with a 12MP Camera, and this time with 30FPS 720p, oh and of course Xenon flash!

I feel sorry for nokia, So close. but yet so far!

This phone isn't even that expensive, same price band as the omnia hd, iPhone and n96 (when it first launched). Nothing special, will be free on a £40 contract I expect.
