shaik imran, 06 Sep 2014the moto g (2014) mobile is 1080p recording is not there, 2... moreHow can you be so ignorant, sir ? You do realize that it has slightly bumped up specs from last year's model,a larger screen, front facing speakers, better camera (front/back facing) with a guaranteed upgrade to Android L/5.0 and it's being offered at the same price, right ? 720p is good for the price range (it can also do slow motion video) and 1GB of ram is more than enough for KitKat/ Android L (4.4 tested internally on a Nexus 4 with 2 cores disabled and 512 mb of ram). Also, the original Moto G scored very good in the battery endurance test and will do EVEN BETTER with Project Volta (Android L). What it offers for the price is amazing, only competing with Xiaomi's Redmi 1S/Note

I think this is going to be even a bigger killing than their original G which I had from the outset. I was gutted when they brought out a 4G version with SD card capability but when I upgraded to 4G I took the Sony M2 instead. I always felt the Moto G's screen was a bit too small so the new 5 inch will be excellent. The missings for me was no SD (now resolved) and the terrible camera (now up from 5 to 8 Mpix) so will be excellent. The screen quality is second to none on these machines. Battery life isn't amazing and the fact that you can't remove it and replace it with a spare if you're away all day is a shame but no biggie.
I do miss KitKat on my Sony and am waiting until they send an update - the one thing about using a Google/Moto is that you get the latest version out of the box which is excellent - for example - I can't move apps to my 32gb SD card in my Sony - until I get KitKat.
So the original Moto G was an excellent wee machine, the 2nd gen 4G/SD solves a few of the problems - now the 3rd gen with bigger screen and better camera makes this a leader....and all for c $150!!! How do they do it???? My Sony M2 is now not looking so smart after all.....

Should of kept it the same size. Not a big fan of bigger phones. I'll keep my Moto g. Still going strong!

At $179. It's OK. But with NO 4G radio and the same battery. LEADS me to believe they will bring out another $219-229 model that will have 4G LTE AND a 2500mAh+ battery.
                        THEN, I would buy it!
A Snapdragon 410 & 1.5GB of ram wouldnt hurt either

Small battery doesn't mean a bad battery. Good battery life is a blend of good software optimization and battery size.

Also, small batteries charge faster than larger ones so if Motorala can optimize battery well on a 2070mAh you could potentially get good battery life and faster charging.

The only thing upgraded is the screen and slight bump in camera. Is this what we are calling an upgrade these days? Isn't even pocket friendly anymore unless you put it in your pant pocket.

Motorola you should have kept the 4.5" Moto G selling side by side with the 5", but also with the improved 8mgpx camera and stereo speakers.

Not everyone want 5" screen phones!!!!!!!!!
